In all sincerity, I just want the best for my clients. Most of the situations that lead to criminal charges start off as a misunderstanding, or a situation that unnecessarily escalates to unforseen levels. Many times I counsel invidivuals who simply didn't understand the law and were doing what they thought was legally correct at the time of thier arrest. And worst of all, quite a few of my clients land in my office because they didn't know how to properly assert thier constitutional rights. The biggest example of this is allowing a police officer to search your person, and your car, by freely giving them consent to do so. In order for them to invoke their authority to legally search you, they have to have enough information available to them to articulate the probability of criminal activity reaching a level high enough (probable cause standard) to override your 4th amendment right against Unlawful Search and Seizure. Simply stated, if you haven't done anything wrong, and are just going about your business being an upstanding citizen, the police shouldn't be asking to invade your privacy and breach your constitutional protections by talking you into allowing them to search your car. Always say no, respectfully. If they search anyway, and they find something which lands you in jail, you come see me as soon as you get out. We'll handle it. With that in mind, If there's anything I can do to help, just give me a cal!! And If I can't help you, I bet I know someone who can!

I am a dedicated Attorney serving the great state of Michigan from the Tri-Cities to Traverse City, and all surrounding areas. I have a strong belief in our rights of life, liberty and freedom, as citizens of this great country, and I will do everything within my power to fight to protect those rights; preserving them for future generations. I specialize in the areas of Criminal Defense, Family Law, No-Fault auto and trucking accidents, Personal Injury, and all kinds of Civil Litigation. I pride myself on my aggressive, powerful and (most importantly) effective representation, and I consistantly obtain the best possible result for my clients by putting in the extra hours and fighting as if it were me standing in my client's shoes. I became an attorney because I love the law, and because I love having the power to help people fight back. down to earth

I called Aaron's office by mistake about four years ago for a domestic violence charge a couple county's away. Let me assure you that it was no mistake! Aaron handled my case extremely well, even though we had very limited time to prepare. Aaron not only found the time to learn my case, but he made sure he was fully prepared to aggressively question the witnesses who testified, which lead to a very good outcome for me. He was always there when I needed him, and he answered my questions and explained everything to me in a way I could understand, which gave me a real sense of security with him in my corner. He got me a very good outcome in that case, and he is still here for me to this day for any advice I need. He’s truly someone that cares. So Thankful!

I am writing this on Thanksgiving and this Thanksgiving I am grateful for Mr. Coltrane. This is not hyperbole. Because of Mr. Coltrane, my brother will be spending this holiday season and, indeed, the next several holiday seasons with us rather than languishing in prison. Facing three very serious weapons charges, each carrying very serious time, Mr. Coltrane fought a very determined prosecutor and won! A true trial that went the distance, Mr. Coltrane was brilliant and conveyed the seriousness of an incorrect verdict and the devastating effect it could have on an innocent man. Three unanimous not-guilty verdicts were rendered that I am convinced were due directly to Mr. Coltrane’s skill and knowledge. For this we are all so grateful. Regardless of the circumstances, I would say you are entitled to the best defense you can get. Mr. Coltrane is the best defense you can get. I also want to give my thanks to his team who had to be part therapists to a concerned brother and other family members. You were all so wonderful! You need every advantage you can get in the courtroom, that’s why I hired Aaron.

Going into court numerous times over the past 6 months, Aaron always stood out as the most professional, prepared and energetic attorney there. Wrongful Death

HE BEAT THE CASE!!!

I was going to just use a public defender and hope for a plea deal. Someone recommended Mr. Coltrane as a younger attorney who actually cares about his clients and doesn't just pass them off as most lawyers do. He thoroughly reviewed my case, looks me in the eyes and goes I'm beating it. What else do I say but okay, let's do this. Worth every penny. Look no farther, this is your guy. He may be young but he knows what he is doing. I got goosebumps. The officer and DA both were so shook. It was hilarious.

A+ in every aspect

I first contacted Aaron after having a bad experience with a different attorney that was representing me. I was initially just reaching out for an opinion of sort with hopes of finding a new attorney to represent me and long story short, I wish Aaron had been my first call from the start. Wow!!

Aaron turned what could have been a 15 year felony into a year of probation. Amazing!! He did such a good job that I hired him to do my divorce. I don't have a lot of money so he really worked with me on the price. Aaron is very personable and he genuinely cares about you. He puts you at ease and you feel like you are his only client. He’s not just your attorney, he’s your friend.

Absolutely Awesome!!!

I hired Aaron (I call him by his first name because we actually became friends during the length of my case) to handle some serious felony charges that I was being charged with in Saginaw. He was awesome, very professional and did everything that he possibly could to make sure that we always had the upper hand. He filed a lot of motions (No clue what half of them were until he explained it to me) just to make sure my rights were protected, and eventually got all of the charges dismissed!! I couldn't believe it! There is no doubt in my mind that I would 1000% recommend Aaron to anyone with a legal problem. He traveled down to Saginaw to help me too which was cool. Thanks again, Aaron!
