Patrick Chatterton

Great lawyer. listens and answered all my questions. Was able to get my case dismissed without having to go to court. If I ever need a lawyer again will get him again.

Complete turn around for the best!

I hired Patrick based on the reviews that I saw from his clients and given the work he did for me, I would be doing him a disservice if I didn't write one of my own. I initially hired a different attorney to represent me in my custody case. I will refrain from mentioning names but it was an awful exp...erience to say the least. My original attorney took the "I'm the attorney and know what's best for you" approach rather than listen to what I wanted for myself and my boys. He went as far as agreeing to terms that I explicitly disagreed with putting me in a huge hole in my case. I terminated his representation of me and was left without an attorney. Enter Patrick Chatterton. There were several reviews that seemed to paint the same picture I was in; already behind in the case. The results in the cases mentioned in other reviews were promising, so I decided to meet with Attorney Chatterton. I was forthcoming about everything that had already taken place as well as what could be expected from opposing counsel. He was not deterred in the least and seemed eager to represent me. This reaction during an initial consultation is to be expected from any attorney looking to be retained; I'm pleased to say that same vigor and enthusiasm carried over into the courtroom. He listened to what I had to say, offered advice based on his experience that was unbiased and straightforward, and presented my case exactly how I would've hoped for. Given my original attorney's "agreement", I was the plaintiff filing for sole custody (knowing I would never be awarded that), but somehow wound up with supervised parenting time at the sole discretion of the defendant, my boys' mother. Attorney Chatterton, unfazed, took over and turned things around. He was able to highlight inconsistencies in the other side's argument and ultimately obtain the result any working father could ask for. He took a potential nightmare situation and got me the time with my boys I wanted, despite the aforementioned adversity as well as questionable ethics from opposing counsel. I would not only recommend Attorney Chatterton to anyone in a difficult custody case, I would hire him again myself if the need ever arises.

Excellent Attorney

Attorney Chatterton handled my divorce and later an alimony dispute. Each time, he not only fought for my best interests, but he also showed compassion and concern for what I was experiencing. He kept me informed of every step of the process. I’d recommend him to anyone and if I ever have need of l...egal services in Michigan again, he will be the person I call.

Lenghty child custody case

I hired Mr. Chatterton for what turned out to be long custody battle, he put a lot of time and effort into my case. Patrick was very responsive and though in all aspect of my case which included the State Appeals Court. He is a strong Attorney when needed, knew when not to be and his advice was alway...s spot on. His confidant and compassionate nature was just what I needed and he didn't hesitate to be straight forward when necessary. I am currently still having Mr. Chatterton take care of all my legal needs and would not consider recommending another Attorney.

criminal misdemeanor charges dismissed

Mr. Chatterton is an amazing attorney. I'm still not sure how he convinced the prosecuting attorney to reduce the charges from negligent discharge of a fire arm, (which is a misdemeanor) to trespassing (wear the bullet was the trespasser) and then all charges were totally dismissed. He is a great cho...ice if you're looking for an attorney that will listen to you and then fight on your behalf. I will highly recommend you contact him as soon as possible so he has time to build your defense.

"I have known Patrick Chatterton for nearly 10-years; he is a consummate professional in the family law area. Over the years, I have had Patrick on the other side of a few cases, and have also worked as a mediator on one of his divorce cases. All of these experiences have led me to conclude that Patrick is an experienced divorce lawyer who goes the extra-yard to protect his client's interests. A former college athlete, he will never give-up on a client so, if you need divorce representation in the Genesee County area, you cannot go wrong with Mr. Chatterton. He will have your back!"
