Feeling Justified...

I had almost given up; then someone gave me the name..Gregory Gibbs. I was a 17 year employee of an area hospital; My husband had been severely injured a few years ago and his medical needs can be costly and he's totally dependent for his care. Long story short; I was fired because of FMLA issues. ...I had to be absent from work to take care of my husband; filled out my FML papers and turned them in to H.R.; gave the doctor his papers to be filled out and returned. Sept. 4th of 2013 - I was at work ; business as usual; when my manager asked to see me in her office. At that time, I was informed that I was being terminated due to FMLA. I went to the doctors office; where I found out that his portion of the paper work had been turned in late, but that he'd also sent a letter explaining the reason for the tardiness. H.R. refused to accept the evidence presented and upheld my termination. My union decided not to arbitrate my case; which left me no choice, but to attain legal advice on my own. After speaking with Kelly and giving her some background of my case..she felt that Mr. Gibbs might be able to help me and we made an appointment. On the day of my appointment..I was a little nervous, but Mr. Gibbs personality made me feel at ease. We talked and he told me he would look over some things and would give me a call if he thought it would be beneficial..but he felt we probably had a case. A week or so later; he called for another appointment and showed me what he had found and asked if I wanted him to represent me ..I did...he went to work; kept me informed- every step of the way..called me in for additional meetings when necessary..let me know what to expect and what was expected from me. I felt comfortable that he was knowledgeable of the law in question and that he did his homework to make sure that he was on point. We were up against a Corporation and their league of attorneys, but, Mr. Gibbs was not bothered by that and he was confident in his approach and stayed the course. Of course, they tried to say that we didn't have a case and that it was a basic waste of time to go forward, but Mr. Gibbs would send his reply and keep things moving; pointing to the law and showing where their client fell short of following the law. We had a court date for July of 2015, but by March/ April offers of reconciliation started going back and forth. I felt so comfortable with Mr. Gibbs and his ability to make sound, ethical decisions..that I told him to do whatever he thought was best and he did..all the while keeping me informed. We reconciled this matter around the first of June. I returned to work on the 30th of June; with my benefits and seniority re-instated. I am very happy with the outcome of my case and I am very pleased with the treatment that I received from Mr. Gibbs and his staff. I would recommend his services to anyone in need of a great attorney..I have been "dropping" his name..when anyone asks.."who did you use?"...Lastly, I just want to thank Mr. Gregory Gibbs and Kelly for all the work they did for me.
