Excellent Attorney and Great Friend!!

Someone close to me recommended Tim for a child custody case I brought against my ex-wife. I was so happy to have found him. The attorney that handled my divorce and first child custody case let my ex-wife and her lawyer walk all over me and gave them whatever they wanted. Tim was the opposite. ... He took the time to meet me and my son's maternal uncle (his mother's brother) before he would even accept the case. I thought that was awesome because in reality he didn't know me or whether I was being honest in bringing a custody motion against my ex-wife. He does have a regular startup fee but asked me if I could afford it. That made me realize he is not motivated by money unlike my previous attorney. Tim was always prepared for court and never laid down and accepted what my ex-wife and her attorney wanted. He really cared what happened with my son and was a true advocate for him. I believe Tim was such a great representative for me and my son because he is such a compassionate and empathetic individual. He would spend hours preparing me and my witnesses before each hearing to try to ensure that the outcome would be in my son's best interest. I know he never charged me for all the time he would spend on my case. I don't know if this is a regular practice with Tim but I truly appreciated this because I am just a simple working class man. I feel the need to point out that Tim is an honest lawyer. I realize that lawyers often get a bad rap and most lawyers are considered dirty but Tim is not among them. He is a devout Christian and it shows. He feels that what he does is in service to God and families. I value this characteristic even though I am not a Christian and do not have the same religious beliefs. He has earned my respect and friendship for how he represented me and my son. Because of this, I have contacted Tim a couple of times since he originally represented me when I have a legal question. He would give me advice and my options over the phone and I would ask him what I owed him and his answer was "nothing" because he feels he was giving advice to a friend. Of course, my questions did not lead to a motion with family court. He is a great attorney and awesome man!! I highly recommend Tim to anyone who wants an ethical and credible attorney.

Effective.

This letter is a reference for Timothy Ash P.C. I first met Tim in 2009. I was a single father just trying to do the right thing by my kids. I called Tim and explained that I saw his name and number on a car while at church. When I explain my situation to Tim including my limited resources to p...ay him he with no hesitation agreed to help me and my kids. Tim served me at the highest level utilizing his incredible knowledge of the law and his even more incredible love and concern for his fellow man. Tim served us with utmost professionalism and passion for both me and my kids and their mother. He was never negative or vindictive. He was never money motivated and it was evident in his approach to our case. Since then we have became good friends and Tim became one of the biggest supporters of my family after a tragic accident by youngest son. To this day Tim is the first call I make in regards to all legal matters because I know I can trust what he tells me even if it means referring me to someone else. If I was to rate Tim on a scale from 1-5 with 5 being the highest rating he would definitely be a 5. I refer others to Tim on a regular basis. Kindest Regards, LeDon

Run Run Run!

I hired him for my divorce(which wasn't a very difficult one) He kept trying to push me too fight for more and stated that my husband is trying to intimate me( which wasn't true). He told me I wasn't letting him do his job and said he wasn't going to represent me. I told him, "no problem" go ahead an...d send my future ex husbands lawyer a letter stating that you will not be representing anymore. He actually started yelling at me about how he just had neck surgery and wasn't in the mood for this. Do your job, Tim Ash! When a client says she is in agreement with the proposal. Then that is that! You do not argue with someone who is paying you! I feel he was trying to fight for more, because it would make him more money as well.

Reprimand issued in MI, 2007

updated on 10/17/2014

Reprimand means an attorney did something wrong but may still practice law. The State gives the lawyer a public reprimand in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior. Details of the infraction are made part of the public record.

Timothy’s comment:

“This is an action that occurred many years ago. My relationship with a client became friendly and we socialized outside of a professional capacity. She and her spouse reconciled and he wanted the fees reimbursed, When I refused as the case had gone on over a year, there was a grievance filed. There were extreme circumstances as to my actions to befriend this client. Since this incident, my attorney client relationships are kept on a professional level and I no longer get personally involved.”
