I was born in Morenci, Michigan and grew up in that rural area. For my undergraduate degree, I attended Bowling Green State University in Ohio, where I majored in Criminal Justice and minored in Psychology. In December 1995, I graduated summa cum laude with a 4.0 GPA. In December 1998, I graduated from University of Michigan Law School. After passing the February 1999 bar exam, I began practicing law in June 1999.
I am married and have one daughter, as well as a cat. My interests include travel, reading, boating, and fine dining.
