Avery J. Bradley

I am an attorney, licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan for over 30 years. I have maintained a successful private practice in the areas of probate, criminal and family law.  My years of experience in probate law have lead judges to appoint me to handle complex and challenging cases.  I have been actively involved in community service and local politics, developing strong skills of diplomacy, communication, and leadership.  In 1993, I was elected to serve on the City of Detroit Charter Revision Commission, where I served as Chairperson of the Commission.  As Chairperson I was instrumental in bringing together various political, municipal and community groups to collaborate on issues necessary to update the city charter.  I also was responsible for the hiring and supervising of critical staff. These efforts led to the successful revision of the Detroit City Charter.  In addition, I have served as Assistant City Attorney to the cities of Hamtramck and Ecorse, Michigan.  As City Attorney, I prosecuted ordinance violations, auction and sold foreclosed and abandoned properties.  I also acted as legal advisor to the Mayor, City Council and various city departments.
