Nickolas Gregory Calkins

On my second DUI with no personal lawyer, I googled DUI lawyers. The first result was the Nichols law firm, respectfully so. I went ahead and made a phone call and never looked back. I then consulted with Nick and when we spoke, he quickly relinquished any doubts I had in our conversation. So I hired... him to defend my case and it was the best decision I could have made. Nick worked to build a case for me through unrelenting hours. He never held back his opinion and supported me through my case and another one that followed a month later. He never gave up and helped me succeed in getting through my cases. Drunk driving is a harmful, selfish act that has consequences. However no amount of money is too much to have Nickolas represent you. I never second guessed my decision to hire him and neither will you if you are in the same situation.

I retained Nick for an OWI-high bac charge this past August. As someone who has never even had a parking ticket before, this was my first time ever having to retain legal counsel. I was scared/worried, ignorant, etc. Nick was very professional, knowledgeable, tactical and sincere. Throughout the ent...ire process Nick made sure I understood what was going on, and that I was comfortable. On the day of jury selection, I had a tough choice to make where I ended up taking a plea deal of OWVI. Beforehand, Nick sat down with me for over an hour (!), and we went through every scenario I was facing. I was very upset the entire time, but he was patient with me, and never once tried to sway my choice one direction or the other. Nick truly cared about my well- being even outside of the charges I was facing, and he will care about yours as well. He takes his job and his clients lives very seriously. Although I personally decided to take a plea for a number of reasons, I believe Nick would have done very well for me in trial. I do not plan to be in any kind of legal trouble again, but if I were, or someone I knew was, I would retain/ recommend him again.

As with many, this was my first experience hiring a lawyer. I was facing a DUI with an over intox. Of course I was both and stressed and embarrassed. Nick made me feel comfortable, was great at communicating and letting me know what to expect. He helped prepare me for my pretrial conference by pro...actively recommending classes that may be required but were also beneficial. My pretrial went better than I ever expected and my charges were reduced to an OWVI. My sentencing again proved what great counsel Nick was as I received no probation and the judge was satisfied with what Nick had recommended for classes. While this is not something I would ever want to go through again, Nick made it a pleasant and educational experience. Nick may be a younger lawyer with a bit less experience than some, but his execution and advice was flawless. I would recommend him to anyone who is going through a difficult time and needs legal counsel.
