Court appointed but excellent
Helped me get a first time DUI reduced to a reckless driving due to multiple errors in a police report which apparently is unheard of in Monroe. A few points and a $300 fine later and the matter was over. Wasn't case of the century, but it mattered to me.

"The Devils' Advocate" for SE MI. He represented my son recentlly and my son took a plea to 2x what the PSI recommended. Really?
This guy worked a plea for my son (court ap) that's 2 x longer than the PSI recommended. He couldn't provide file in it's entirety. His office has little to no resources for even a photocopy. He claims that he does not have his copy of the PSI. I guess safe to say unorganized. Moved very slowly, months of postponements. Very little contact with my son in jail. Would not cooperate with family members that had questions/concerns. Maybe he really didn't know the answers. Always late for court and never informed my son of what was going on. Poor communications skills and does not return calls. I was trying to teach my son a lesson by not bailing him out with an experienced private attorney. I learned the lesson. Mr. Smith works all these court appointed cases for a reason. I wouldn't recommend him for anyone at all for any reason whatsoever.
