I am a veteran of Desert Storm. I served in the US Navy. After I was honorably discharged, I went to college. I received my bachelor's degree from Eastern Michigan University and my law degree from Wayne State Law School.
I am a trained mediator. Between the time that I graduated from law school and the time I opened my own law practice, I helped run a nonprofit mediation firm in Wayne County. There, I mediated a wide range of civil cases, including contract disputes, business-to-business disputes, divorce, custody and parenting time disputes, and many, many others. I use my mediation experience to help my clients.
I am also a trial attorney. I concentrate my practice in three primary areas: criminal defense, divorce/custody, and Ch. 7 bankruptcy. I care about my clients and want to help them obtain the best possible results. To that end, I regularly go to advanced trainings and participate in groups to help learn innovative trial techniques, so that I can advocate effectively for my clients in and out of court.

Highly recommended
Mr. Vititoe is knowledgeable, dependable, and has taken a real interest in my proceedings. He is the first person I call when I need an attorney. And I would highly recommend him to anyone needing an attorney. He has an attention to detail and sees each client as a person, rather than a paycheck.
"I recently referred a client to Matt for school disciplinary proceedings, and was extremely impressed with how swiftly Matt took action during their time of intense need."
"I have had the opportunity to watch Matt in court several times. I am always impressed with his preparation and thoroughness."
"Matt is a great attorney! He's knowledgeable and takes the time to educate and advise his clients. He's quick on his feet and respected by Judges."
"I met Matt at a conference a number of years ago and still see him at legal seminars. He is as hard working and dedicated to his clients as he is approachable and friendly. If I had a prospective client that was in his neck of the woods, I would absolutely refer them to Matt."
"If you have a legal predicament in Monroe County, Michigan, I endorse and encourage you to talk o Matt Vititoe. I have consulted with Matt on legal matters and am confident in his abilities. Further, Matt has been involved in continued legal training which is not mandated in Michigan at this time. This alone sets Matt apart from other attorneys. Most importantly, Matt truly cares for his clients and puts his energy in seeking justice for them and the best outcome for their cases."
"Matt is an aggressive advocate for his clients. He is extremely well prepared and thorough. He is very well respected in the legal community and you can count on him to provide top-notch representation."
"Matt Vititoe has a thorough understanding of the law and is always looking to increase his knowledge. I would recommend him for any legal matter you have."
"I am writing to endorse my friend and colleague Matt Vititoe. As a person, Matt is a rare combination of humble intellectual and intense all-out go-getter! Matt takes the time to understand the finest details involved in your case, so that when he goes to court for you, he can paint a vivid picture for the Judge that depicts you as the clear winner and accurately outlines the justice that you deserve. I speak from experience when I state that when you hire an attorney, you want someone who is well-rounded. A person who only knows how to bury their head in books and speak legalese can never understand your concerns at the level that is required for effective advocacy. Matt doesn't have that problem. Matt is unique in his ability to put his multi-faceted life experiences to work for you. Give him a call, you will not be disappointed."
"I recently met Matt at a conference in lansing. Matt is articulate, knowledgable of the law, and has an incredible sense of confidence, which is vital in the courtroom."
"I endorse this attorney. Highly motivated and continually looking for the best solutions for his clients."
"Matt Vititoe is an outstanding lawyer and mediator. He shows deep respect and compassion for those he works with, and he is assertive and effective in protecting the rights and interests of his clients."
"Matt mediated a difficult domestic relations matter that required time, patience, and conformance with the traditional approach of letting the parties be heard by each other. The matter settled because of Matt's excellent skills. He saved the clients an enormous amount of time, money, and emotional energy. I look forward to working with him again in the future and endorse him in his mediation practice."
"I give Matt Vititoe my highest recommendation. He prepares hard for cases and genuinely cares for the clients he represents."
"Matt is a thoughtful and dedicated attorney. In working on a committee with Matt and in his work judging our ADR competitions for Michigan State, I found him to be very collaborative with superior communications skills. He has a great deal of ADR expertise, both procedural and substantive. I highly recommend Matt in each of his practice areas, as he is an outstanding member of our legal community."
