Mr. Steiner attended the University of Arizona and graduated from the Universityof Michigan at Dearborn in 1994 with a dual bachelors of arts with distinction in History and Political Science and a minor in International Relations. Mr. Steiner enrolled at Wayne State University Law School in Detroit, Michigan in 1996, Mr. Steiner was an International Law Scholar at the University of Notre DameLondon Law Centre in London, England. In 1997, Mr. Steiner was chosen as anInternational Law Fellow by the University of Warwick, to study in Warwick,England. Mr. Steiner received his juris doctorate from Wayne State University Law School in 1998.
Mr. Steiner is a past recipient of the Donald E. Barris Trial Award, and is the former National Director of the Trial Advocacy Program. Anticipating today's issues well in advance, Mr. Steiner authored the article "Discovery of Personal Computers Under Federal Rules of Civil Procedure" which appeared in the March 2000 edition of the legal journal, Laches. In July 2001, Mr. Steiner was elected to the Executive Council of the Young Lawyer's Section of the State Bar of Michigan by his peers. In 2003, Mr. Steiner was appointed to the American Bar Association Executive Subcommittee by the national organization.
Mr. Steiner is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the American Bar Association. He has practiced in the Michigan State Courts, the United States District Court for both the Eastern and Western District of Michigan, as well as the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati. In 2004, Mr. Steiner was accepted to practice before the highest court in the land - the United States Supreme Court, nominated by United States Senator Carl Levin.
Mr. Steiner was born in Grosse Pointe, Michigan and currently resides in western Wayne County. Mr. Steiner is conversant in French, has studied Spanish and Russian, and in his spare time enjoys sports, reading and travel.
