Melissa is very professional and a pleasure to work with. She kept me informed and even contacted me after her office hours when necessary. I was always satisified with Melissa's decision's and advise. She follows through with the tasks at hand. I would recommend Melissa to anyone needing an excellent attorny.
The difference between supportive and non supportive attorneys and how important it is to have the 'right fit'.
Prior to meeting Melissa, I was in desperate need of support from my bankbruptcy attorneys.
I had retired early from my job due to medical reasons and my SS didn't begin until 5 months later. I tried to explain the financial issues to my attorneys: I emailed both of them and tried to contact them on the phone. My calls were not once answered or returned. Neither were the several (rather desparate ) emails I sent to both, explaining the changes in my circumstances and that I was unable to pay the Court until I received my retroactive Social Security payments.
After 60 days with no contact from them, I called the trustee's office , discussed my situation and was sent a listing of attorneys in my area. I feel that I am extremely fortunate that I selected Melissa's firm (Charles Schneider). My appointment was scheduled within a couple of days of my initial call, my prior case notes were discussed with me and my options on how best to proceed were carefully explained.
After followup calls and appointments with Melissa, my case was reviewed by the Court.
Bottom line: My case issues were all resolved and Melissa also negotiated more affordable monthly payments due to my retirement and reduced income.
I cannot praise her efforts and support enough!

Professional and caring
Going through any bankruptcy is not easy. But Melissa made it less painful. Her excellent knowledge of the law and the inner workings of the bankruptcy court was key in helping us to file, maintain, and finally complete our bankruptcy. Near the end of our bankruptcy due my wife being forced to retire and we losing half of our income we were forced to request a modification. Melissa took on this challenge, negotiating with our remaining creditors and the trustee for an approved modification to our plan that was acceptable to all parties involved, helped us avoid incurring new debt in the process. I highly recommend this attorney if you are faced with bankruptcy. Communication with , and compassion for the client are two things that Melissa excelled at. She exceeded my expectations.

A Caring and Understanding Lawyer
Melissa is the greatest!!! We don't quite know how she remembers it all, but she does! We have been in a chapter 13 bankruptcy for about a year and 1/2 and with health issues and other problems still changing in our lives, she always tries to help and gives suggestions. She has now been able to get our plan payment reduced and shortened to a three year plan, since we gave up our rental home. She has always had time to explain everything, even when we didn't quite understand it... she went over it again. She never seemed to get upset... even with multiple phone tag and lots of revisions. She is the greatest in our eyes and you would love her to.

Outstanding Lawyer
My wife and I had financial problems and unmanageable debt, we filed for bankruptcy. Ms Caouette was assigned to our case and really helped us feel comfortable in this very difficult process. She explained to us our options and really took the time to walk us through the process. We have been working with Ms. Caouette for three years now as our situation got worse, because of my job lose and the various adjustment to our case and she is always very professional and caring. Yes, I said caring. We really appreciate her as our lawyer and as a human being. Every time we speak, it’s like taking with a family member and she always willing to answer all our questions. I have no problem in giving her the highest recommendation.

Chapter 13 Success
Had a difficult chapter 13, without Melissa's knowledge and help, the case may not have been confirmed. Would highly recommend if you require a bankruptcy attorney.

A Reassuring Advocate
Melissa has been confident and reassuring while representing me in my Chapter 13 case. She fought for a reduced term plus went the extra mile by taking the time to review my finances after I was confirmed and submitted modifications to my plan. If you are looking for a Bankruptcy Attorney who will take the time to listen to your situation and be your advocate in the complicated court system, look no further.
