Steven A. Reed

I found working with Steve and his firm a "pleasure", which seems strange, given the circumstances of a surprise divorce. I trusted Steve's knowledge because he proved again and again that he was trustworthy. For example, he had to advise the lawyer that looked after the filing that it had been filed... in the wrong county - a mistake that, if not caught, would have resulted in me still being legally married. One needs to file in the county one lives. He advised on important clauses and asked the questions I needed to ponder in order to arrive at a JOD that I could live with. While Mr. Reed was kind, courteous and warm, I do not recommend Mr. Reed as a therapist; he is a very thorough lawyer and can be relied on to do that job extremely well. Further Jamie and Taylor were friendly, respectful and positive as was everyone I encountered in the office. John was a sheer delight despite what I'm imagining is a difficult job at times. I have recommended this firm and lawyer to friends that are serious about wanting things handled well and expediently. I truly concur with what I've heard from numerous people - both parties need to pick knowledgable, non litigious lawyers who are looking for solutions and collaboration if they want to reduce expenditures and increase ease. I only wish there had been two lawyers of the same calibre in my case.. Thank you Steve and team! I really feel like I lucked out.

Steve Reed is an extraordinary attorney and that is an understatement!! My divorce was extremely contentious with many many games played by the other side. Steve protected me legally, financially and supported me emotionally. Not only is Steve an extraordinary attorney but an extraordinary person.... Steve was always available when I needed help. Steve is excellent at negotiating, practical in options to protect his clients finances and unbeatable when action is necessary. Steve always puts his client and their best interest first. The outcome of my divorce was better than I hoped or expected. I am so grateful for Steve's legal expertise; I was able to make decisions in complete confidence because of this expertise and experience. Mr. Reed is a caring involved lawyer. In my case he was as concerned about me as a client as he was about the legal issues. What impressed me most in my research is that he is a winner. He is a bulldog in court, and his results were as promised. He always kept me up to date on where we were in th...e process, and most importantly he kept my head straight. One thing that impressed me about him was his thoroughness and attention to detail. He knew things about the opposing party that even I did not know. His fees seemed like a lot at the time, but being a businessman I checked the other firms and found he was only slightly higher in price than average. I was surprised to get his bills and see many "no charge" hours. Now that the case is finished I think it was the best money I have ever spent. Although he was not available every time I called him, he always returned my calls the same day I left a message. He even called me once on a break from a seminar he was attending, and on a Saturday afternoon he called me from the U of M stadium. For anyone who cannot take straight talk, he may seem a bit aggressive. He tells it like it is, and was not shy about bluntly letting me know how my actions were hurting my position and what i should do to minimize problems. He does not suffer fools well and is very aggressive in his dealings with opposing counsel. . He expected me as his client to take an active role in my case. and to be totally truthful with him. I learned not to be embarrassed in sharing things with him that did not show me in the best light. He was not judgmental but did make serious effort to help me through the life-altering, emotional highs and lows of the case.
