Paul J. Zalewski graduated Cum Laude from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts in English/Pre-Law, and graduated from Wayne State University School of Law in 2000 with a Jurist Doctor in Law.

Lipscomb, Jr.; the Top Brief Writing Award and the Top Advocate Award in the Arthur Neef Memorial Moot Court Competition in 1997-1998 at Wayne State University School of Law; the Best Appellate Brief Award in the Legal Writing and Research Program at Wayne State University School of Law in 1998; the 1st Place Brief Award and 2nd Place Team Award at the First Annual Herbert Wechsler National Criminal Law Moot Court Competition at University of Buffalo Law School in 1999; and, due to his numerous academic achievements and recognition as the best legal writer and oral advocate at Wayne State University School of Law, Paul J. Zalewski was honored with the position of both lead Advocate and Brief Writer for the Moot Court National Team at Wayne State University School of Law from 1999-2000.
Paul J. Zalewski began his legal career as the Chief Law Clerk to the Honorable Judge Willie G. Lipscomb, Jr. at the 36th Judicial District Court in Detroit, Michigan from 1994 -1996. His recognition and achievements in this position resulted in his employment with National Institute of Justice, an arm of the United States Department of Justice, through the nationally recognized research organizations of The Urban Institute and Weststat in Washington, D.C., where he was employed as the Lead Research Assistant in a study of the 36th Judicial District Court's Handgun Intervention Program in Detroit, Michigan from 1996-1998. Paul J. Zalewski then served as a law clerk and associate attorney for Peter J. Lucido, P.C. from 1998 - 2003, before he accepted a position as Executive In-House Corporate Counsel for several automotive and manufacturing corporations in the Metro-Detroit area of Michigan, where he served as corporate counsel from 2003-2006.
In 2011, Paul J. Zalewski was received an Award of Recognition and Appreciation from the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan for his representation of a prisoner/Plaintiff in a Section 1983 / 8th Amendment civil rights action, which case has already once been before the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals and is currently ongoing pending litigation through the Plaintiff's estate.

Paul J.
