James E. Czarnecki II

James was born and raised in Michigan.  He is a 2004 Graduate of Wayne State University Law School.  ​While in law school I served as Editor-In-Chief of the Moot Court program.

 

 

 

 

I also interned at the State Appellate Defender Office, Federal Defender Office and Wayne County Prosecutor's Office. When I became an attorney I did volunteer work for the ACLU on criminal over 10 years, I have successfully dedicated myself to criminal defense. I have handled every aspect of the criminal justice system from trials to appeals. I have handled cases ranging from traffic tickets to murder. I have represented clients in federal court with charges ranging from conspiracy, alien smuggling, and union fraud among other am an experienced litigator who has successfully taken jury and bench trials to verdict. I have received not guilty verdicts on felony and misdemeanor cases ranging from criminal sexual conduct, assault with intent to murder, domestic assault, and assault and battery among others. I have successfully had cases dismissed at preliminary examination or from motions to suppress for illegal searches and seizures. I have appealed cases to the Michigan Court of Appeal, Michigan Supreme Court and Federal Court where my clients' convictions were overturned and given new trials or had sentences changed. If there is a legal issue, I will find it.​Litigation is not always the answer. I have negotiated cases to avoid convictions, get charges reduced, and avoid jail or prison sentences. I have negotiated with local prosecutors, United States Attorneys, FBI and the essence, I have dedicated my career to fighting for people in my community.
