Biography
Jeffrey M. Salassa has been a Partner at Iafrate & Salassa, P. C. since he graduated with a Juris Doctorate from Michigan State University College of Law in 2006. In 2006, he was admitted to practice in the State of Michigan and the U.S. District Court of Eastern Michigan and immediately began focusing on the area of Family Law.
Jeffrey has been named as a Rising Star in the area of Family Law by Super Lawyers Magazine and has attained an AV Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards. Jeffrey has also been named by dBusiness Magazine as a Top Attorney in the area of Family Law every year since 2012 and, in 2014, he was named by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys as one of the Top 10 Family Law Attorneys under the age of 40 in the State of Michigan.
Jeffrey is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, where he is enrolled in the Family Law Section, as well as an active member of the Macomb County Bar Association, where he is part of the Macomb County Law Day Committee, Macomb County Family Law Committee and Macomb County Bar Association Annual Golf Outing Committee.
Prior to becoming a Partner at Iafrate & Salassa, P.C., Jeffrey was also a Law Clerk in Macomb County Circuit Court for the Honorable Judge Mark Switalski while Judge Switalski was the presiding Judge of the Family Law Bench, and also interned for the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office. Jeffrey is a graduate of Michigan State University, where in 2003 he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunications. While attending MSU, he was a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, spent a semester in Washington, D.C. in 2001 as an intern for the then Democratic Whip, Congressman David Bonoir, and studied British Political Thought at Cambridge University in the United Kingdom for a semester in 2002.
Jeffrey is a dedicated and caring attorney who does everything he can to ensure his client's best interests are protected and that all of their questions are answered in a timely and comprehensive manner.

Poor ethics
I hired Salassa on the advice of one of his previous clients. I found him to be more concerned with billing than with the details of my case. He advised me to settle for far less than I should have. I would not engage his services again and strongly recommend seeking at least two other oppinions.
