Kim Clayson is a bankruptcy and business law attorney who joined Maxwell Dunn after leading her own firm for the last three years. In 2020, Kim was appointed by the Department of Justice United States Trustee Program as a Chapter 11 bankruptcy trustee under the Small Business Restructuring Act which became law in February 2020. In this role, Kim is tasked with facilitating debtor and creditor agreements resulting in restructuring plans for business debtors.
Kim’s bankruptcy practice supports consumers and businesses who have faced financial setbacks and have utilized bankruptcy relief for a fresh start. Her business practice is centered around offering customized small business legal advisory support to assist small businesses and entrepreneurs in making sound business and legal decisions to prevent financial hardship. Kim’s business experience ranges from negotiating and drafting commercial real estate leases and business contracts to creating product licensing agreements and advising on brand protection, business planning and visioning as well as the many other legal facets of business operations.
