I have lived and practiced law in St. Joseph County for 40 years. My goal has been to provide quality legal services to "regular folks" with an affordable fee structure often including instalment payments. I married a native South Bender and have raised two marvelous children, one of whom has blessed me with a grandchild.
I have served on several community boards and volunteered for civic, political and charitable organizations. My favorite hobby is singing--for churches and synagogues, the South Bend Chamber Singers, and other local groups.

I hired Stephen Drendall for a Child Custody and Child Support Case. He talked a good game in the beginning but as time went on he became less responsive and did not file paperwork in a timely fashion as asked. Weeks would go by with no updates. He would send out correspondence concerning my case an...
Family law cases often have periods where no action occurs. I do not needlessly incur clients' expenses by making reports when there is nothing to report. I endeavor to copy my clients on all correspondence and I believe I did so in this instance. I certainly cannot guarantee every client will be pleased with the outcome of the case. I am a Certified Family Law Specialist by the Indiana Family Law Certification Board because of my extensive experience and ability.
"Great breadth of knowledge and experience. Goes above and beyond when it comes to pro bono contributions to the community. Criminal. Civil litigation. Bankruptcy. Family law. Foreclosure defense. Car dealership fraud. Stephen knows a lot about a lot -- unlike most lawyers, who know a lot about a little."

“I failed to provide notice to a party who was traveling across the country, and rather than file a written affidavit of my efforts to notify him I gave a verbal report. This violated the rules.”
