also known as The Law Office of Christine Majewski
All of my life experiences prepared me to be a lawyer and help people. I grew up in a family with an extremely high work ethic, which led to my own personal conviction to strive for excellence in all I do. In high school, I volunteered at a nursing home, where the values I already knew from my family and faith, those of having a deep sense of care and compassion for people, was reinforced.
In college, I continued volunteer work in mental health centers as I pursued my major in Psychology. It was at the mental health centers that I gained an understanding and empathy for those who suffer from mental health and addictions issues, as well as the impact it has on the entire family.
Also in college, I served as President of our Senior Class and Vice-President of our Junior Class, which helped develop confidence and leadership skills that make a difference in the type of attorney that I am today. Serving as a Resident Assistant in the dorms also helped strengthen my leadership abilities and my abilities to be responsible for many things at once.
Surprisingly, and having no idea of what the future would hold, the experiences that probably most prepared me for the courtroom was serving in lead roles in two college theatrical productions and one college musical production. In addition, writing several articles that were published in the College Literary Arts Magazine allowed me to learn and utilize writing skills that would also help me to be the best attorney that I could be.
After college, I worked in a community mental health center, first in an addictions recovery program, and then doing initial assessments of patients in the intake unit. There, I learned the skills of questioning, listening, assessing, demonstrating empathy, and problem-solving, all helpful skills to have as a lawyer. Additionally, my core belief in the worth and value of every person was reinforced, as was my belief in showing compassion to hurting people.
Although many of my experiences demonstrate the number one reason I do what I do, which is to HELP people, these experiences in and of themselves are not the only things that formed me into the lawyer that I am. It is true that I have a compassionate heart, but I also have the intellect and the relational abilities that combine and complement one another. I have been blessed with a work ethic wherein I strive for excellence in all I do. Additionally, I have been blessed with the intellectual ability that helps me serve others, graduating magna cum laude and scoring in the top 4% in the country on the Law School Admission Test.
Before going into private practice, I worked in a local small firm, and then for 8 years as the Attorney for the Elkhart County Department of Child Services. The experiences and knowledge that I took from that job alone could fill a book! Suffice it to say that the experience of working in the area of child abuse and neglect was yet another life experience that had a huge impact on me and the type of lawyer I am today.
Now in private practice, I have been blessed to work with the most awesome “team” of attorneys, paralegals, and support staff, who share my belief in the value of people and in the belief that our purpose is to help those who need our help with their legal matters. That is why we are here, and that is why we do what we do. Together, we have strength and synergy to help people in a way that none of us could do alone.

Bogus charges
Hired this law firm for a child visitation agreement . Although I did not directly ever come in contact with the owner Christine, she frequently billed for services that were questionable (phone calls and such, letters that were never mailed) My attorney showed "no charge" in her own billing but I...
Dear Colleen, Please understand that due to confidentiality, I am unable to address the specifics of any case, nor am I able to even confirm or deny that you are or ever were a client of this firm. Unfortunately, there are individuals who have been giving negative reviews, with whatever motivation, and unfortunately in this profession, I do not even have an opportunity to point out any mistruths or defend myself. That being said, I will respond to the issues you raised in general terms to explain how we endeavor to treat ALL Clients. First, you explained that you had frustration with a case being referred to as a “Paternity” case. I can see how that could be confusing for someone who was seeking legal assistance with issues such as visitation or child support. The way cases work in Indiana, though, is that any case in which the parents are not married is classified by the Courts as a “Paternity” case. Therefore, if a person has visitation or child support issues in a Paternity case, the type of case will still be reflected as a paternity case. The Courts do not recognize “Visitation” as a type of case. You also brought up the issue of invoice charges. At our Firm, all Clients sign an Agreement to establish the Attorney-Client relationship, and that Agreement sets forth, as specifically as possible, how a case is billed. We value honest and open relationships with our Clients and have taken extra care in providing our Clients with contracts that communicate how legal fees are calculated. Our desire to have honest and open communication with our Clients even extends to the email I send to Clients, which states. “We do everything we can to ensure that your invoice is accurate. If you notice any inaccuracies, or if you have any questions about your account, please contact us and ask to speak with Christine.” Finally, you reported that an attorney at the Firm who was handling the case did a “no charge” on your bill. Please know that I am the only person who handles the invoices here at the Firm. Associate Attorneys do not have authority to make any decisions when it comes to invoices. If any invoice goes out with an item that reflects “no charge”, it is a discretion that I exercise given particular circumstances. I am very sorry that you felt the need to leave a negative review about our Firm. I think if you were to ask, most of our clients would say they had a very positive experience with our law firm. Please know that I have an open door to speak with Clients if they ever have a concern, and I invite them to please contact me if they would like to discuss any situation. If something is wrong, I want to make it right.

Christine made all the difference in our case. She gave us a forever family.
We hired Christine to represent our family in a messy adoption case. Upon our first meeting, it was evident that she cared deeply about our case and provided empathy, but was also very knowledgable and analytical about what needed to be done and when. Christine took time to explain the process to e...
