I am a Northwest Indiana native, and I have called Valparaiso my home since 2002.  After graduating from Chesterton High School in 1998, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.  I was stationed throughout the world, and served his country filling billets as a non-commissioned officer in a variety of infantry and support roles from my primary duty station of Kaneohe, Hawaii, and I served abroad in such places as Okinawa, Japan, Po Hang and Seoul, Korea, Iwo Jima, the Philippines, East Timor, and Queensland, Australia.  I was discharged honorably after receiving several medals and awards, including The Navy/Marine Corps Medal (of Heroism), The Navy Achievement Medal, The Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, The National Defense Medal, A Medal of Good Conduct, Letters of Commendation, Meritorious Masts, and several regular promotions.  I retired as a Marine Corps Sergeant (E-5) after four (4) years of active, honorable service.

I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from Valparaiso University in 2006 with the Cum Laude distinction in Political Science and Public Administration, and I attended law school at Valparaiso University.  I received my law degree in May of 2009.

I currently represent various municipal units of government, including the Porter County Assessor, the LaPorte County Assessor, and the Porter and LaPorte County Property Tax Assessment Boards of Appeals (“PTABOA“), and advises other local government units throughout Northwest Indiana.

I also share an affinity for my fellow veterans, and I give back to those who have served.  I am certified by the Veterans’ Administration as a Veterans’ Claims Attorney and I continue to serve veterans in their many needs and legal issues, and regularly assist veterans in many areas of the law regardless of their ability to pay.

I am licensed to practice law before all courts in the State of Indiana, including a license to appear before the United States Federal Court for the Northern District of Indiana and the United States Federal Court for the Southern District of Indiana.  I am a member of the American Bar Association, the Lake County Bar Association, thePorter County Bar Association, the Indiana State Bar Association, and the American Inns of Court Porter County Chapter.

I maintain a general practice, and I am a well-rounded Indiana attorney.  I serve my clients in the areas of municipal law, land use regulations, ordinance construction, contracts, real estate, and criminal defense.

This attorney is one of the best attorneys we have had. I have to keep an attorney because of my business deals and also personal lawyer. He is very professional and a great guy to talk to. What I like about him, if it is something he do not understand or don't know, he was say I don't know instead of telling me something off the top of his head. He will research and find out the answer to my problem.

Excellent Family Lawyer
Hired Chris to handle my child custody battle in 2016. He was able to help me relocate out of state with my child and keep primary physical custody. Recently had an emergency custody situation and Chris made my case his top priority. My child was returned safely back to my care within 24 hours of contacting him. Chris has excellent knowledge of Indiana family law and works very quickly. His compassion for my situation was very much appreciated, I would highly recommend him to anyone needing a family lawyer.

Excellent Legal and Appeals Knowledge
Hired Chris to handle credit supplemental motion that was part of a 6 year divorce that included 100's of post decree motions. Chris not only was able to grasp 6 years of a very contentious case in our first meeting, he took over as lead attorney, and has won every motion since I hired him. He turned the tables 360 degrees and cleaned up the messes left by 2 other attorney's as well as mistakes I made while Pro Se. He has been extremely fair with his billing hours, and has written some of the best memorandum's in support of motions that I have seen in this 6 year ordeal. I simply can't recommend Chris enough, and he is experienced with appeals as well, so that is one more added benefit to hiring him. Hiring an appeals attorney and getting them up to speed on your case can be extremely expensive, with Chris you will never have to go through this. I am extremely well versed with attorneys, both in family court, and in business, and he is one of the best attorney's I have run across, and a truly good man to boot.

Very,Very knowledgable and smart young attorney. Used Chris for a business/employment matter and was nervous because he has only been out of law school for a few years. He really impressed me in the way he handled my case. He is a very honest attorney and he knows the law very well. I will definetley call Chris first if I ever need an attorney again.

Basically tried to destroy my life
I hired this guy for business law starting around 2010. We used him for a contract dispute and a few civil collection cases. Every thing seemed normal with him until around 2015 when he was more interested in taking my wife out to lunch and dinners trying to convince her to leave me for him. Luckily I found out before it went to far. I made a complaint to the Indiana bar association due to his dishonest and unethical behavior. He knows what he did was wrong and I hope karma punishes him one day. On a brighter note my wife and I are still married and happier than ever.

"I worked with Chris on numerous cased but one that sticks out involved a case in Howard County where our client was facing 5 cases with over 20 total charges and up to 40 years in prison. We ended up destroying the State's case and worked a plea for one year on a lesser included offense. Without our teamwork it wouldn't have been possible. I endorse this lawyer."
