Several months after an $89k (erroneous income) entry was made in our books the last day of 2017, the IRS demanded a face-to-face meeting. Our accountant didn’t catch it, and filed our tax return showing us owing $29k. The IRS agent insisted that we began paying quadruple our normal monthly estimates..., nearly crippling our day to day business operations.
