Casandra Lyn Ringlespaugh

I am an attorney with Cohen and Malad, LLC, practicing in family law and education law. I have extensive trial experience, and I am passionate about representing individuals going through difficult times in their lives. I represent clients throughout Indiana with all types of family law issues including: divorce & legal separation; custody; parenting time (visitation); child support; paternity; adoptions (including contested adoptions); post-decree modifications & enforcement (including contempt actions); guardianships, emancipation; domestic partnership agreements & disputes; spousal maintenance (alimony); relocations; protective orders; restraining orders; grandparent rights; education orders; military divorces; and family law appeals.

In addition, I developed a special interest in education law when I studied special education and general education at Indiana University and received a dual degree with a specialty in emotional and behavioral disorders. I am passionate about helping children with special needs receive a fair and appropriate education as provided under federal law, namely Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, IDEA. I also represent children in disciplinary disputes, such as wrongful suspensions or have represented parents throughout the state of Indiana in Special education issues; Due process and section 504 hearings under state and federal law; Severe bullying within a school settings; Civil arbitration hearings; Teacher and student discipline and dismissal matters; Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other civil rights matters. I have also spoken on several occasions at CLE's in regards to the interaction of family law and education. 

In my free time, I volunteer as a trained Guardian Ad Litem serving the Court. I also enjoy spending time with my dogs, outdoor activities, and as a former Colts NFL cheerleader, of course cheering on the Colts!
