Ryan Hodge Cassman

I worked with Ryan Cassman, and could not have had a more nightmare of an experience. His talent is talking on the phone. We can quickly make you feel like he has things under control. When you hangup, he will take 2-3 weeks to respond to the most minor questions. When I say minor, I mean, asking if ...there had been any update in a month. After email upon emails, he would finally agree to a call, and convince me things were OK. Divorce is a stressful time, and minor updates are very appreciated. Due to his complete lack of action, my divorce drug out 8 months longer than it should have. I had to finally switch attorneys, and pay a whole new retainer, just to get moving. His last email to me was sending me some other clients financial documents, and I found out he never even sent the opposing counsel my discovery 5 months earlier. Please do not use him.

I was a client of Cassman he never helped me at all. During a meeting with me he stepped out to take a phone call and was gone for almost an hour. Charged me almost $20,000 and I did not get anything. He failed to explain the Indiana guidelines to me for parenting. Most of our communication was throu...gh emails. He had everything he needed to know for the case months ahead and was still charging me every week 100's to $1,000s and he kept postponing the court date but said it was my ex's lawyer. He never showed me any of the proposals from my ex and he just kept rejecting them without my knowledge. More or less towards the end I felt like I had to agree with everything my ex wanted due to feeling over the barrel with $.If I could do it again I would have NEVER hired Ryan Cassman. Please do not waste your time or money unless your rich and have thousands to waste.

I was a client of Ryan Cassman. He represented me in a family law matter. Plainly stated I did not like that he put off trial preparation until the last minute, was unprepared for hearings, sent an associate instead of appearing himself and grossly underestimated his fees and expenses, estimating $2,...500-5,000 and actually billing nearly $19,000. In my opinion Cassman appeared uncomfortable in the court room and an Indiana Odyssey Case Management System search indicates that many of his cases settle in mediation.

Having been involved in a lengthy divorce/custody proceeding (3 years and still going) that has encompassed almost every issue a family law case could entail, I might be in the best position to critique Ryan's abilities. I am a father who was awarded full custody in a state and county where that is ...fairly uncommon, so needless to say, I cannot say enough good things about Ryan. He's been with me thru the lowest of lows, highest of highs and everything in between. He's knowledgeable, professional and patient. I think the last characteristic is probably the most important when it comes to the practice of family law. I really struggled to think of anything negative in his abilities. The only thing I could think of is maybe the response time in communication was a little slower than I preferred, however, I will qualify this by saying that I am also an attorney, so my response time expectations may have been at times unreasonable. Overall, if you are looking for one of the best family law attorneys in the area, you cannot go wrong with Ryan.

Ryan is the ultimate professional. I had absolutely no idea what to expect with my divorce and he answered any and all questions I gave him. He is very patient and keeps you on track with what is important. My case could have headed south; however, with his calm demeanor and ability to relay infor...mation back and forth between me and opposing counsel, the case settled without a hiccup.
