Paul H. Spaeth began practicing bankruptcy law in 1988 as a staff attorney for a government agency that monitors and oversees the bankruptcy process. In 1990, he joined a Dayton area law firm, where he represented individuals and businesses, both debtors and creditors, in bankruptcy and business law. In 1997, Mr. Spaeth opened his current law practice, focusing primarily upon bankruptcy law and business law. He has received the highest peer rating of “AV” through the Martindale-Hubbell rating process. Mr. Spaeth has written and spoken on bankruptcy topics over the years, including at conferences sponsored by the Bankruptcy Institute of the Cincinnati Bar Association, the Midwest Regional Bankruptcy Seminar (Cincinnati, Ohio), the Bench-Bar Conference of the Dayton Bar Association (Dayton, Ohio) and the American Bankruptcy Law Forum (Dayton, Ohio). He has served as the Chair of the Debtor/Creditor/Bankruptcy Committee of the Dayton Bar Association and has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the American Bankruptcy Law Forum. Mr. Spaeth also has served as a member of the Local Rules Committee (Consumer Subcommittee) of the United States Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of Ohio and is a Fellow of the Dayton Bar Foundation and of the Ohio State Bar Foundation. He is a graduate of Miami University (cum laude) and the Ohio State University College of Law. When he’s not practicing law, Mr. Spaeth enjoys playing jazz piano in a local big band, cycling and reading.
