Lowell Thomas Woods Jr.

Lowell T. Woods, Jr. is a partner in the Dayton Office of Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP, where he concentrates his practice in the area of commercial litigation with an emphasis in construction, labor and employment law. In his construction practice, he represents owners, design professionals, contractors, subcontractors and sureties on a wide range of issues arising from private and public construction projects. In addition to contract drafting and interpretation, Lowell has significant experience with litigation involving public bid disputes, mechanics’ liens, surety bond claims, defective design and work issues, change order and scope claims, claims for delay, acceleration and associated damages, wrongful termination and project abandonment disputes, warranty claims and commercial foreclosure. Regarding labor and employment, he provides employer counseling and representation in federal and state courts and administrative proceedings. He also engages in general business litigation and has prior involvement handling insurance defense and subrogation claims.

Lowell received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University and his law degree, magna cum laude, from Indiana University School of Law. He is admitted to practice law in the states of Ohio and Indiana, the United States District Courts for the Southern District of Ohio, Northern District of Indiana and Southern District of Indiana, and in the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth and Seventh Circuits. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the ABA Forum on the Construction Industry. He is also a member of the Construction Financial Management Association, and is a member of the board of trustees for the March of Dimes Miami Valley Division and for the American Cancer Society.  He was in the Leadership Dayton Class of 2011.
