In working with Tom for over a year on a federal criminal case we were billed for approximately 80 hours of work. We asked a lot of questions and did a lot of research. When we asked questions we frequently got very simplistic answers. We cooperated with the authorities and were told no prison time... would be asked for by the DA. The DA came in hard at the sentencing and Tom was not prepared with any response, nor had he prepared us to have a response even though we asked if we should prepare something. The verdict was not in our favor. After all the time and money we invested with Tom we were shocked at his inability to represent us sufficiently even though he said he had handled federal criminal cases previously. He may be acceptable for general legal work but he was woefully inadequate when it came to representing us in front of the judge.

A few years back we hired Tom to defend our son. It was a case that seemed to be blown out of proportion by the arresting park ranger. My son wanted to just not do anything because he felt the whole incident was no big deal. Our son was in his second year of college at the time and we convinced hi...m that it might make a difference when he was ready to go into the working world. He ended up going to medical school after college and becoming a doctor. If Tom had not done such a great job at defending him he probably would not have achieved his goals. Thank you for convincing us that this was a case worth fighting for. He is now a practicing physician on the east coast.
