I tried many lawyers in different states NYC and Florida. Some scared us, some told us that they would basically charge us an arm and a leg. I remember in Florida one of the well known lawyers said that my case is very difficult and it would cost 30k for him to help me with 50/50 chance. Although ...my case was reopened during the time I had the NYC lawyer (my case was in NY originally) she wasn’t well experienced in immigration in my opinion. Her lack of experience caused me and my family a lot pain at that time. Due to her delay in filing my case I got detained (which could’ve been avoided) for 5 months even though I had approved I130. That experience was the most traumatic thing my family has ever faced. Needless to say having the right lawyer makes a whole lot of difference and gives you confidence in fighting for your case. Mr. Yu has immaculate case winning record with immigration court. Overall we are very happy with Mr. Sarmiento and Mr. Yu. They’re the best lawyers we’ve ever had and we highly recommend them to anyone who’s looking for great immigration lawyers. We won our case just recently, I got approved for AOS, green card. Very few things are as difficult as knowing where to begin with Mr. Sarmiento, In the 20 months or so of working with JP, there have been so many good things that are worth sharing, so much so that even as I type up this review, in my mind, all the 'good things' are screaming "share me! share me!". ... In February 2019 my employer hired Sarmiento Immigration to file an I140 petition for me. Before getting hired however, JP was kind enough to get on the phone with my employer and I. He clearly explained the process and gave us an idea of how long the entire process should take (might I add that his estimated timing was spot on!) In addition to the calls he kindly accommodated before getting hired, I personally bombarded him with emails, and he was kind enough to respond every time. When he started representing my employer and I, it was more of the same, always responsive, knowledgeable and reassuring. Incidentally, if there's anything you need as an immigrant in the US, it is reassurance... JP gave us a truckload of it and then some. Also, JP never delayed in filing documents. In fact he took time out in the few days between Christmas and New Year to send my employer's petition and AOS forms (aka. concurrent filing) to USCIS because a retrogression was predicted for the Final Action Dates for my category in January 2020. Although we received an RFE with regards to my previous job experience, he again ensured that we responded in less than a week and about 4 months later, my case was approved without an interview. As far as Immigration is concerned, JP Sarmiento is in a class all by himself and perhaps he has such a heart for immigrants because he was once an immigrant himself. I doubt that I would be a permanent resident today without his help and support from his team and for that I will be eternally grateful.
