Very highly recommend Rod! I was facing a second OVI conviction only a few years after my first. I was referred to Mr. Mastandrea when I was on the cusp of potential charges for an OVI, and Non Compliance (driving without insurance). Background on my case: I did NOT blow in the breathalyzer, but performed two sobriety tests, and failed according to the officer. I was in a skirt and heels on the ...side of the highway while it was raining. I was told that I would have a court ordered attorney represent me at my hearing, however when I arrived early on location for my hearing, the court ordered attorney was no where to be found. The clerk of courts assured me that I would speak with him before my hearing, but I was not willing to risk it, we were now 30 minutes from my plea hearing and still no attorney. So I called Rod. He was on his way, right away. We went over the details of my accusations and he represented me for my first plea. I pled not guilty. Afterward, he throughly educated me on what was to come next. I was well prepared for my next appearance in court, and understood the laws and potential extremes of each violation. My OVI was reduced to a Failure to Control with fines, and 3 days in a hotel OVI education class. My non-compliance was not reduced, however, I was guilty of that. I received only minimal fines. My license was suspended for 6 months because I didn't blow in the breathalyzer, much better than having an OVI. Now, fast forward one year. I was pulled over by a state trooper going 59mph in a 25mph zone at 3:00am. The trooper asked me to step out of my vehicle, and stated he smelled the presence of alcohol. I had not been drinking at all. I remembered everything Rod had reviewed with me from our previous case, thus helping me to not incriminate myself. Of course he is hired again, and I have a lot more piece of mind going into this new case. He filed a motion to where I didn't have to appear in court for my plea hearing, and managed to get me a very close court date, which is hard, considering all of the people pulled over for OVI's in Ohio around the holidays. Our case is promising and what's even better is I know I have peace of mind because Rod Mastandrea is representing me.
