Scott is a Cleveland, Ohio attorney who primarily focuses on criminal defense, civil litigation, and appeals.
Scott began his legal career as an attorney in the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps (“JAG Corps”). As a JAG Corps attorney, Scott served as a military prosecutor in Fort Hood, Texas and was the lead attorney in high profile cases involving involuntary manslaughter, sexual assault, child abuse, drug distribution, larceny, and military desertion. Scott also served as a civil litigator with the U.S. Army Legal Services Agency in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. As a civil litigator, he represented the U.S. Army in environmental disputes between the U.S. Government and private landowners. In 2011, Scott volunteered to deploy to Iraq in support of Operation New Dawn. While in Iraq, he assisted deployed service members with personal legal issues, including family law, consumer protection law, and military disciplinary actions. Scott also supported the U.S. Army’s Rule of Law Mission in Iraq, and worked with Iraqi judges and law enforcement to ensure that the local Iraqi authorities prosecuted insurgents who were captured by coalition forces.
After five years of active duty service, Scott left the Army and focused his practice on civil litigation, primarily defending business and individuals in personal injury lawsuits. After working for a large law firm in Indiana, Scott decided to return to Cleveland and open his own law practice, using his experience as a litigator and former JAG Corps attorney to provide legal representation to individuals in and around Cleveland.
