Very effective and professional

I retained Mr. Drain’s services for a civil case. On the first motion he filed, the judge commented that he rarely granted that kid of motion because “most attorneys don’t know how to proceed properly. Mr. Drain however, did it right “. The judge granted that important motion. Later on, I have seen ...Mr. Drain succeed were others fail. I have no hesitation recommending him to anyone.

Professional misconduct

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2008.

Suspension Stayed issued in OH, 2008

updated on 11/23/2011

Suspension stayed means the attorney has been suspended, but that the suspension is placed on hold (and ultimately removed) if the attorney complies with certain requirements.

John’s comment:

“I received a six-month stayed suspension for the period 12/3/08 through 5/3/09 in the case of Cuyahoga Bar Assn v. Drain. The disciplinary violation was neglect of a client matter for failing to file a dental malpractice within the statute of limitations.”

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?

  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline
