I am originally from Toledo, Ohio. Born and raised in the Toledo area, I attended undergraduate school at Lourdes College in Sylvania. After Lourdes I attended the University of Toledo College of Law. While attending UT, I participated in the Criminal Law Practice program. This is where a student will intern in a local prosecutor's office. I worked in the Bowling Green Prosecutor's office for a semester. This has given me a greater understanding of the criminal justice system, and prepared me for criminal defense work. Additionally, as a member of the Law Review while at law school, I was the assistant managaing editor. Wanting to stay in the Toledo area, I opened my practice in Sylvania, Ohio in 2008.
In 2013 I joined the law firm of Handwork & Kerscher, LLP. There I expanded my practice in real estate, probate, estate planning, trust and estate administration, commercial litigation, business law, domestic relations, and criminal.
On November 1, 2020, I became "of counsel" with Pfost Law, Ltd. in Perrysburg, Ohio. I continue to focus on domestic relations law, real estate, and trust and estate administration.

Brian, worked consistently to resolve my probate case efficiently and effectively. He communicated my options and executed them per our discussions. His support staff was also a positive contributing factor to my experience.

An A-list Family Attorney
When going through a complicated (aren't they all) divorce, the last thing anyone needs is an attorney that doesn't meet their expectations. There are so many emotions when going through such a difficult period in life, that thinking clearly doesn't always come easy. Brian exceeded my expectations!...

Trustworth, calm, and just who I needed!
Brian was there for me when I needed him. In going through my divorce, I chose to not deal directly with my ex and he was excellent about working through the oppossing attorney and "battling" with my ex for information and trying to do what was in my best interest. When I had questions, he was ve...
"Brian is both professional and experienced. I have had several cases with Brian in Lucas County and he has always provided his clients with the highest degree of legal representation. I would gladly recommend his services to anyone seeking a custody/divorce attorney."
"I had the privilege having Brian as an intern during his undergraduate education and later shared his services as a law clerk during his law school days. Since then I have referred multiple clients to him. He is highly skilled as an attorney, dedicated and compassionate and I highly endorse Brian."
