Advocate for Ethical Adoptions

I have hired Susan Eisenman to handle family law issues in Ohio. She is excellent. She knows the law inside and out and with her experience, she understands the courts. Most of all she is passionate about the children she represents. As an advocate for ethical and sound adoptions, she is one of th...e best in the country.

Hands down the best attoney!!

I worked with Susan for 3 years or so. We hired her for a very complex stepparent adoption. She also represented me in a shared parenting which was a complete mess. Susan was always available. She even answered me while on vacation/ personal time. Their wasn't one time Susan did not go over and beyon...d. Highly recommend her!! She even caught the other attorney and client in a lie and saved my daughter from physical harm, causing us to win the case.

Thank you Susan for making our family complete!

Susan was absolute God send for our family! We had a very complex case following our descion to adopt a precious little boy with down syndrome. We had spoken to many lawyers, adoption agency’s and anyone we could find to try and help us out with no luck. By chance, a friend of a friend gave us... Susan’s number and things started to turn immediately. Susan worked tirelessly on our case, calling us with updates every step of the way. While there were many opsticals and road bumps, she never gave up. When she finally had a solution for us, it was the happiest moment of our lives. The adoption was complete and now we have the cutest little boy to enjoy lighting up the world with. I say this with a heart full of gratitude: if it wasn’t for Susan, we would not have our little boy as part of our family today. Susan we are so thankful to you and I strongly recommend anyone needing help reach out to her and her staff. They truly are the best out there!

Excellent representation

Susan Garner helped us with the adoption of our grandson. She worked both the original adoption case as well as the appeal we had to go through when the magistrate over our case did not follow the law. There are specific (simple and logical) requirements the biological parent(s) must have demonstrate...d within the past 12 months in order to contest an adoption (such as they at least attempted to stay in touch, attempted to offer some support, etc.) and the bio parent in our case had the ability to meet the requirements but made no attempt for the 12-month period the adoption case was open, so met none of the requirements and legally should not have been able to contest the adoption. It was scary that our case hinged on a magistrate that decide to through those requirements out the window because she felt it might be worth giving the bio parent another chance once she was out of prison and then out of a rehab, even though to this point she had shown no effort to meet the minimal requirements. We were worried that we would not be able to provide our grandson a forever, safe home. But Susan was optimistic. She explained the law was clear and she recommended we appeal. We trusted her and we did appeal. The case was sent to the judge for review who explained through his writings that the law was clear; the law had not been followed and as a result the bio parent did not have the right to contest the adoption. He required the magistrate continue with the process to complete the adoption. We found her staff and operation run very well and never had any difficulty with getting the information we needed. We will always be grateful that we selected Susan to represent our adoption.

Would not recommend

I was referred to Susan Eisenman to represent me while I began the process of becoming a gestational carrier. She was extremely slow to respond and spent a lot of time "out of town". She was not very helpful with key components of our contract. We felt that she billed us for more time than she actual...ly spent with us and became irate when we questioned the charges. After sending an email that I found to be very unprofessional and unnecessary, the intended parents and I decided to terminate our relationship with her. Things moved so much faster without her. Total waste of our time and money.

ARTS is a complex legal process. My office was retained to do a surrogate contract review. My fees were based on that understanding. I was to review and not create the contract. The IP's attorney failed to promptly forward a contract for review.(a lapse of 2 months) The IP's wanted my office to do an insurance negotiation and guarantee. This was beyond the scope of my contract. I referred them for an insurance consultation with an insurance expert, who they used. When the IP's attorney forwarded the contract on the eve of a national holiday, I scheduled an appointment for the next week. I regret that the client and the IP's expectations were not met. However the work and billing were as set forth in the retainer contract.and as understood in the ARTS community.
