I was scared to death. I did something very ignorant and I did not know what to do. I was caught concealing merchandise at a local Kohl s. This was my second charge for Theft in ten years. The first when I was young. I also have a few other misdemeanors.I scrambled to search for an attorney. I had so...me bad experiences with a couple attorneys i retained in the past. I researched and talked to over ten attorneys regarding this case. Each had their own advice. Ben Luftman was the most realistic and caring attorney who talked to me. He heard everything I had to say,did not rush off the phone,and was sincerely concerned with my concerns. He was always quick to contact me back and was very clear about the agreement and possible outcomes. His staff at his office was always polite and professional. Mr. Sabol actually represented me. He was God send. He was very confident and came prepared. He eased my fears and was so nice. They made a resolution to my case in only two dates. Which was very quick. My charge was dropped to a second degree misdemeanor of attempt with no jail time or probation of any kind. That was was phenomenal. That was a better resolution than I thought I would get. I am so happy that these guys are actually out there and helping people like me and has given us a second chance. I will never use another criminal attorney in Columbus or surrounding area. DUI Drama!! Yes, I was arrested in March of 2013, and charged with a DUI. I have never been in this situation before and did not know what to do, so I did what I know best, “Google” searched it. I was directed to a website for DUI Lawyers, typed in my information, and within five minutes received a... call from Attorney Benjamin Luftman. I explained to him what had happened and from day one he was very friendly and helpful. I drive extensively for both of my jobs, so right off the bat I was told by Attorney Benjamin Luftman, “the first thing we are going to do is get your license back”. Wow, was he correct!! He was on the phone with the Prosecutor, got my court day pushed up tremendously, and had me out of this mess within a few weeks. To make a long story somewhat short, Benjamin was able to get my DUI dropped to “physical control”, that’s a zero point traffic ticket, I had my driver’s license back within two weeks of the incident and I had to go to a Drivers Intervention Program (DIP), for three days in lieu of a (30) day jail sentence. Even though I have never had this problem, during DIP, I learned just how amazing of a lawyer I hired. There were 21 people in the DIP class and out of the 21 people, I was the only one that had received my license back (not just driving privileges), the only one with a physical control (not reckless op-a four point traffic violation), and the only one who was able to put this entire problem behind me within five weeks of my arrest. Needless to say, at least 75% of the people in the DIP class had hired a lawyer, but not any of them had their driver’s license back, they just had driving privileges and all of them had received the four point reckless op violation. I don’t know much about the law, but what I do know is that I had an awesome lawyer. I strongly recommend this law firm if you want the “drama”, quickly behind so that you can move forward. I retained Attorney Ben Luftman (Heck & Associates) in September 2024, paying $3,500 for full representation, including post-dismissal record sealing. From the start, his handling of my case showed gross neglect and ineffective assistance. Junior associate Chris Junga was initially assigned but le...ft the firm without notice, leaving me uninformed. Another junior associate, Nicholas Faganano, was then assigned without my consent. Communication was minimal and inconsistent. Ben knew the primary witness would never appear, yet pressured me into two plea offers without explaining consequences or exploring a trial strategy. He provided no preparation for trial, jury selection, or defense presentation, then ghosted me for the month leading up to trial. The case was ultimately dismissed—not due to legal skill—but because I refused unjust pleas and endured the process. He failed to tell me whether the dismissal was with or without prejudice, misrepresented the sealing process included in the retainer, and withdrew from my case without warning after filing the sealing application, leaving me to proceed alone. This reflects a “trust me bro” mindset—where clients are expected to accept advice without question, and any attempt to research or challenge is met with neglect, coercion, or abandonment. Such conduct violated my Sixth Amendment rights and caused serious harm. I have filed a formal ethics complaint with the Ohio Office of Disciplinary Counsel to hold him accountable.

I hired this firm (Benjamin) for some pretty serious charges in Delaware County. I hired this firm based on the positive reviews and internet presence on google searches for attorneys in the area. After talking to Ben about my case I hired him to represent me. However, I was assigned an attorney in h...is firm names Chris Junga whom I had no knowledge of nor had done any research on him. Ben made it seem like Chris would just be helping with my case but actually he was assigned to handle my case entirely and Ben actually had nothing to do with my case. After retaining the firm my calls and texts were mostly ignored. When I did get return calls or texts it was only after I literally had to blow up both attorneys phones. Chris Seemed to have no real concern with my case and made me feel extremely uncomfortable with him handling such serious charges. This is my life we are talking about so a person wants an attorney who is responsive and shows genuine concern. Chris was clearly irritated with me almost every single time I spoke to him and always rushed me off the phone stating he was busy. If I'm being rushed off the phone that says a lot about how my case wouldn't get the time and attention needed to produce a positive outcome. I eventually hired another attorney and notified Ben to withdraw from my case and got a phone call back immediately unlike all the previous calls, texts,and voicemails. I paid a retainer of $2200 and Chris only went to my bond hearing and I still received a bond of $300,000 for a F2 and F3 charge with no prior felony convictions. I only had misdameanor convictions from 20 years ago. Chris never came to the jail before the bond hearing or after to speak to me. My wife called him at 8am before the hearing that was scheduled at 1pm and he didn't even return her call until 12:30pm to confirm with her that he'd be there and confirm the address and court room my hearing was being held. To sum it all up when I asked for a refund for the remaining funds I was told by Ben that "If anything I owed him money" all for one hearing and calls that lasted 10 minutes or less and a few emails that I sent with documents supporting my case. I am extremely disappointed with this firm and would not recommend this firm to my worst enemy.
