Eric Artell Bates

Facing the law from the other side after being a Police Officer 20 years ago, Eric Bates was recommended to represent me. I was not disappointed. Mr. Bates was fast and knowledgeable in handling my daughters case. She was pulled over mistakenly perhaps due to her car type they suspected she was a speeder. Either way she was pulled over and on a hot summer day stepped out of the car ready to give the officer her id. She had just finished a long... work shift, was hungry, and on her way home. The officer threw her to the ground, placed handcuffs and she was taken to jail. A ticket jumped to criminal fast. My daughter is a small frail thing and was very nervous and scared. She didn't understand what happened, the officer we found out later assumed she was me having the same name and not looking real good at the information, thought she had a ccdw. She does not and I think this added to the confusion. Mr. Bates got her in a much better place than she would have been, they wanted to give her 2-5 years probation and she has a clean record. They were going to charge her with disorderly. Mr. Bates was competent and acted quickly.
