Julius Besser

As a lawyer working on my behalf, I always would have to get in touch with him to know what the next steps were to take in the cases. He came off incompetent during some court appearances. A judge was confused as to what he was asking for. Mr. Besser does not remember conversations or important point...s or concerns in previous conversations. I voiced the same concern more than once, first time he undermined it, the next time he didn’t remember us talking about it. Things that took place in the case came as a surprise because he failed to explain what would take place. Above all of this I still do not have the conclusion to my case. I’ve paid him. He’s stated he would get my information to me. My case was five months ago. I called the juvenile court system to see if I can find some answers to my case and they told me that they do have information on my case and yes I told him about it he ask did I need it ?! What’s the point of all this if I can’t have the outcome. Still no word from Mr.Besser. Do I recommend him? Absolutely not!

Firstly, I would not recommend him under any circumstances. He has not contacted me once since I hired him in June of 2021. Not one phone call to me. I consistently have to make attempts to get any update or information from him. And he just does not answer nor call back after leaving voice-mails. Th...at is to start. Secondly he was completely unprepared for my child support case. Had no information on my case, I provided and emailed tons of documents. When I was actually able to reach him the few times, he was oblivious to anything I had provided. He gave me the wrong court date. I had to actually contact juvenile court directly myself. The day of my zoom hearing I still hadn't recieved one call on the day of nor prior to my court date to get an understanding of his plan of action or expectation on how he would aid me. During the hearing Mr. Besser did not speak at all other then the judge asking how his father was doing. He made no attempt in helping as the juvenile court attorney for the state in a very condescending tone told me how my case would be determined going forward. Mr. Besser provided no rebuttal nor assisted me in any way. I text him during the proceeding and stated aren't you going to say anything. And he still said nothing, allowing the advocate for the state free reign. The judge even asked "Mr. Besser do you have anything to say or add" he stated no and that was the end of my case. It was a complete waste of my time and money. I ask him after the fact would he speak with the clerks office and have my payments reduced and my passport reinstated. He claimed he would speak with them. That was on Oct 7, 2021. It is now Nov 27th 2021 I have not heard anything from him and have left him several messages with no returned calls. During the hearing I told the judge I wanted my payments reduced which was agreed to. As of nov 27th those changes have not been made. My court date was Oct 5th. My arrears to the mother of my children were all to be waived accept what was owed to the state at my and my childs mother's request. That also has not been done as agreed by the court. Which now puts them in contempt. I am in the process of filing a complaint with the bar association and filing a contempt of court suit in memphis with the aid of my sibling whom is a judge in memphis as well.

I hired Mr. Besser at my lowest point during a divorce. I felt that my life was over. I thought that I was physically and emotionally doomed. His approach with me was very professional, yet compassionate. He was never vindictive toward my now ex-wife, but he acted in the best interests of me and my s...on. He helped me remain calm during contentious moments and fought for me as well. He continues to represent me in subsequent matters regarding my divorce and I cannot thank him enough. He is a truly caring and formidable representative. I CANNOT recommend him strongly enough.
