Jeffrey Hudson Jones

     Jeffrey Jones is the sole proprietor of the Law Office of Jeffrey Jones. He has practiced law since 1977, dedicating his practice to providing representation in criminal cases, divorce cases, and injury claims. He is a 1974 pharmacy graduate of the University of Texas, Austin, and a 1977 graduate of the University of Memphis School of Law. While in law school, he practiced as a part-time pharmacist. After law school and a short stint with the Memphis Area Legal Services, he entered private practice.

     Mr. Jones has been recognized and selected for the last 6 years as a Mid-South Super Lawyer. Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The selection process includes nominations and evaluations by fellow attorneys. Fewer than 5% of practicing attorneys have been recognized by Super Lawyers. Mr. Jones is board certified as a trial specialist by the Tennessee Commission on Continuing Legal Education and Specialization, which is the only legal organization in Tennessee authorized to certify a specialist. Less than 3% of Tennessee attorneys have achieved this designation. The National Board of Trial Advocacy also recognizes his trial specialist designation.

     Mr. Jones is married to Dr. Karen Lakin, M.D., Assistant Professor at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and a practicing pediatrician specializing in child abuse, child neglect, and sexual abuse. He has three grown children, Christopher P. Jones, Ph.D., who is currently doing post-doctoral research at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland; Allison B. Jones, who practices law in Boston, Massachusetts; and Elisabeth B. Jones, an accountant and 2014 University of Memphis School of Law Graduate.
