Psonya Celeste Hackett

I hired PSonya for as my custody lawyer. When my family and I did I’ll consultation with her we immediately hired her. She had so much knowledge and experience in her field we just feel in love for her. My custody battle went on for sometime but she did everything we need to keep my baby. I hired Psonya Hackett to handle my custody case. Ms. Hackett is very knowledgeable however once she got my check she was no longer responsive. I paid her on 5/14/19 and at that time she told me that the best way to contact her was via a site called my case and the site is free. She also told me that... anytime she does anything on my case it would be posted and I would always know exactly what was going on with my case so this was this best way and quickest way to reach her at no cost and if I called the office to reach her there would be a charge. I would post any info I had that I thought would help my case and she would never reply. My court date is June 27th, she was paid on 5/14 and as of 6/3/19 she had not posted anything to my case which indicated to me she had done nothing on my case so I was ready to find another attorney. On 6/4/19 she stated the had amended my petition and requested police records yet still there was nothing posted to my account. If someone is charging me $250 an hour I expect to be kept in the loop and I want to know that you are working on my case as trying to get legal custody of my grandchild has already been stressful enough. Ms. Hackett informed me that she would be removing herself form my case on 6/10/19 and never apologized for her lack of communication and her slow responsiveness instead she made excuses and has now left me without representation. As of today 6/18/19 I still have not received an invoice or refund of any portion of my $1500 retainer. I have no idea what she has charged me for the little work that she has done which certainly doesn't even amount to an hour but again I have no way of knowing as she still hasn't provided me an invoice even though she removed herself from my case on 6/10. If you want an attorney that is attentive, responsive and at least has empathy Ms. Hackett is not the attorney for you, however she does seem to be knowledgeable, but it takes more than that to be considered a good attorney when people are paying you A$250 an hour and trusting you to do all that you can to win their case, especially a case involving child neglect.

I can honestly say Psonya Hackett was an exceptional lawyer! She was very personable, honest and reliable. Prior to hiring her, I perceived lawyers to be deceptive professionals but she proved me wrong. My child support case was very time consuming as they were attempting to calculate arrearage for ...the past 8 years. Surprisingly, I had documentation for those 8 years which created a meticulous calculation beyond a normal case. The hours she spent on the phone with me to prepare for court was remarkable. Although, I resided in a different state, the distance did not yield to poor communication. There was never a moment I questioned the status of my case as she offered 24 hour communication via her web portal. I was able to send/review/ post messages, upload docs, confirm court dates, etc. at any time. Overall, my experience with hiring Psonya was superb and I would definitely hire her again. I'm so thankful I had a positive experience hiring my first attorney.

I received representation from the Hackett Law Firm and have been pleased with my overall experience. My mom had custody of my two nieces for 15 years and in the year of 2011 she passed away from cancer. My two nieces ended up in custody of another person. This person was receiving state money to ...care for the girls. Months and months passed, the girls told me that they were not receiving any money, clothes, or shoes from their guardian.
