My parents said I wanted to be a lawyer at the age of seven. They were preplexed since televison was severely limited. Perhaps it was the Dr. Seuss books "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Sue that Fish" or "Horton Hears A Suit." Unfortunately for me, my mother was in charge of my education and I suffered throught four years of high school Latin.
Before entering law school, a person must first earn a four year ungraduate degree. I earned degrees in Marketing and Finance. Yet, I had always said I would never let college interfere with my education. With this in mind, I created small businesses as a way to put myself and other students through college.
With all of the studying in law school, I did not have time to run small companies. So I would attend classes in the morning, work at law firms in the afternoons, and study at night. Somehow I found the time to run an organization known as Student Defenders, who represented students in trouble with the administration. Also, I was elected the president of one of the two law fraternities at my law school.
Once graduating law school, I wanted to return to my beloved city of Nashville. However, I had two job offers and other attorneys in town who said they could use my help. Before I was even licensed to practice law, a Judge gave me permission to sit as a second attorney on a wrongful death jury trial that lasted a week.
I worked for another attorney for only six months before starting my own practice. During those two months I help try a Federal jury trial and a state jury trial. Further, other attorneys begin associating me on cases.
As I type this, I realize that I have handled well over 10,000 criminal and civil cases in court. My firm has grown to five lawyers with two locations.

The Best In The Business
I had been through three other so called "DUI" lawyers and all of them wanted me to plead guilty to DUI and take 60 days in jail. Mr. Waggoner took the case to trial and I won. I did not have to do any jail time and got to keep my license.
"I endorse this lawyer. As a fellow lawyer in the community I have learned a tremendous amount from Gerald. With his experience and expertise, I am confident Gerald is capable of providing the highest quality representation for any criminal charge you might face."
"Gerald Waggoner was a mentor and friend to me when I was a new attorney. He taught me about criminal law, professionalism, and the business of law. If I'm in trouble in the Mid-South, I'm calling Gerald."
"I endorse this lawyer. Gerald is an excellent criminal defense lawyer. He is well known at 201 Poplar (The Memphis criminal courts) as a fine defense attorney. While I practice mainly personal injury and auto accident law, I do some small amount of criminal defense and each time I have had cause to work with Gerald Waggoner it has been a pleasure. If you have need for a criminal defense lawyer you would be well served to consider hiring Gerald."
