I have practiced in Tennessee for 30 years. My primary focus is the probate of estates, whether testate (with a Last Will and Testament) or intestate (without a Last Will and Testament). I also handle litigation for contested wills as part of that area of practice.

I also prepare will packages for clients which include a Last Will and Testament, a Living Will, a Power of Attorney for Healthcare, and a master HIPAA release. You can add documents as requested, such as Durable General Powers of Attorney for financial matters, revocation of previous POAs, and Quitclaim deeds.

My litigation cases include wage and hour cases, including unpaid overtime, misclassification as exempt from overtime, and client not being paid the full salary level required to be exempt from overtime. These cases focus on workers who have been denied overtime pay, or who have been misclassified as exempt salaried employees when they should have been non-exempt, hourly workers entitled to overtime. The required salary to be considered exempt from overtime was recently raised and some employers are not meeting the required new salary level.

I am also licensed in California (inactive). I moved to Tennessee from San Diego in order to teach at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. I taught at UTK for 9 years, with 5 of those years as an Assistant Professor and 4 years as a lecturer. I have worked as an Administrative Hearing Officer for the State of New Mexico Human Services Department and a Civil Rights Investigator for the State of New Mexico Department of Labor Human Rights Commission.
