Luke Davis Durham

On Monday, I was so happy to be scheduled for a Wednesday consultation with Luke Durham, one of the attorneys at Brock, Shipe & Klenk. He has great reviews and I was looking forward to working with him on my case. Absolutely nothing was said about a consultation fee, which was encouraging since I've ...paid consultation fees a few times in the past only to have the attorney turn down my case. Today (Tuesday), I received a text asking me to pay $425 for the consultation before coming in tomorrow. I called Kelly, his paralegal, but she had no idea what I was talking about. After I forwarded the text to her, she called me back and said, "Yes, we'll need $425 or I'll have to cancel your consultation." She wasn't even embarrassed about springing that on me the day before my consultation. I was heart-sick about cancelling the appointment, but it's SO unethical to spring that on a potential client the day before their scheduled consultation. It made me view Brock, Shipe & Klenk in a whole new way. I don't believe we should have to accept unethical business practices as normal .

Previous reviews speak volumes of this man's skills and concern for cases he upholds. He has turned a bleak and dreary, nearly irredeemable case into a hopeful, salvageable one. Without going into too many details, I had to change attorneys and dump their mess onto Luke's shoulders. He had very l...ittle time to make adjustments and to absorb the case. This did not deter mister Durham. He took it upon himself to visit places handfuls of hundreds of miles away (out of state) so that he could 'paint a picture' and get the information he needed. He did the work you would expect a phenomenal attorney to do. No stone was left unturned, no possibilities or options had gone unconsidered. He did his absolute best, and hardest work for me. My best interests were - and still are - in his heart. This is why he is my attorney, and why he should also be yours.

Luke has consistently prosecuted and won Civil Suit proceeding for us for the past 4 years and has done so by his excellent knowledge of the law, his hard work and dedication to achieving results, and by his kind/honest/compassionate demeanor. Luke demonstrates excellent knowledge of the law and lega...l system and if there is something he is not sure of he takes the time to check in to it. He is open to discussions on possible actions/approaches and he provided education to us to better understand legal matters and proceedings. In our last court proceeding, the Judge called Luke "a brilliant attorney at work". Luke has consistently worked on our behave to achieve positive results by good communication skills, his willingness to answer endless questions and keeping us updated on our case , and by his professional standing/respect in the court system and legal community. Luke is very respectful of others and is able to get results without being ruthless. He thinks before he speaks and does not promise things that are not possible. He has shown us genuine concern over the stress we have been under and gives us a heads up if a emotional wave might be heading our way. I honestly can not say enough of how thankful we are for Luke who has been there for us through a very difficulty situation. I highly recommend him to anyone and I am so thankful that we were referred to Luke through the Knoxville Bar Association.

I was referred to Mr. Durham by someone who praised his work. I needed to retain an attorney to defend my son, who had an Order of Protection filed against him. It was a particularly complicated case, that if the order had been granted, could have potentially affected my son's employment, academic go...als, and caused him to have a criminal record. In meeting with Mr. Durham, he was both measured and confident. His sincerity and motivation were evident, reassuring, and he immediately put me at ease during a very stressful time. Within 2 weeks, he had researched all the details of the case and compiled the necessary information to substantiate my son's innocence. Prior to the first hearing, he made certain the Order of Protection was not granted. He had it dismissed without my son ever having to appear in court. My son's record is now unblemished. Mr. Durham was a pleasure to work with and there is no doubt, should I ever need an attorney in the future, he is the first person I will call.

I consulted Mr. Durham when I had difficulty with my employer/HR. He gave excellent advice, and was very professional, intelligent and timely throughout our interactions.
