Mr. Carter recieved his law degree from the Duke University School of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Carter worked at the U.S. Department of Justice as an Anaylst in the Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance, and Training. After law school, Mr. Carter was privileged to clerk for the Honorable John McClarty of the Tennessee Court of Appeals. He is a former member of the Brock-Cooper American Inn of Court.
Mr. Carter serves as a Criminal Justice Act attorney in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee and also teaches a criminal law paralegal course at Chattanooga State Technical Community College.
