James Albert Hurst Jr.

For over a decade, James Hurst has focused his career in the areas of commercial transactions, healthcare transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate development. He has assisted in the representation of buyers and sellers in some of the largest asset, real estate and private stock transactions in recent Chattanooga history. He has assisted clients in the resolution of business disputes through litigation and alternative dispute resolution processes.

He received his undergraduate degree, cum laude, from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 1993. He earned his law degree (1997) and M.H.A. (1999) from the University of Memphis, where he received the Dean's Award for Academic Excellence and was one of the Founding Editors of Tennessee Journal of Procedure and Practice. He is also a veteran of United States Army and served in the first Gulf War.

Jamey is admitted to practice in Tennessee and before the United States District Courts of Tennessee, Eastern, Middle and Western Divisions. He is a member of the American, Chattanooga and Tennessee Bar Associations, the American College of Healthcare Executives, as well as being the southeast Tennessee representative for the Tennessee Bar Association Tax Council.
