Knowledgeable, resourceful and well-respected

My son was in a car accident and got a first-offense DUI in Nashville. As we learned, Nashville doesn't mess around with drinking and driving--consequences for a first-time offense are tough. In trying to find an attorney, we talked with several attorneys in Nashville and were generally overwhelm...ed by the number of choices and underwhelmed by their approach to situations like ours. A family friend reached out to a successful attorney friend in Knoxville for a referral and we landed with Ben, whose father is also an attorney with 40 years experience and is very highly regarded in Nashville. Ben turned out to be truly exceptional. In the weeks before the hearing, my son and I both had many, many questions. (This being our first rodeo with this kind of thing.) Ben always replied quickly. His answers were thorough, thoughtful and he gave us detailed explanations of local and state laws, procedures and practices. He was clearly thinking about the case from every angle and exploring options for all the ways things could go, in order to have the best possible outcome. Ben was knowledgable, resourceful, and patient with us. He was direct but compassionate, which was important because we wanted the truth, and yet, we were completely traumatized by the whole situation. Ben's excellent skills as an attorney were crucial, but his kindness mattered. On the way to the hearing, I asked my son if he was satisfied with Ben. He said, "Absolutely." Regardless of how the case was resolved, Ben had impressed us both, earning our trust and respect. The outcome of my son's case was nothing short of a miracle. Ben said the planets lined up just right. That's true, but Ben also spent considerable effort nudging them to line up. And likewise he had prepared us well for the decisions to be made should the case go differently. Ben cost a bit more than some of the "budget attorneys" but was worth every dime of it. Rather than making his living from charging less and accepting a large volume of cases, he seems to have fewer cases and to spend more time on each one. Based on the number of ads that pop up when searching for a DUI attorney, I'd say the business is quite competitive. I wish there was a way for us non-legal people to better evaluate options. I wrote this long review because if someone reads it who is lost--like I was--in trying to find an attorney, it might prompt you to call Ben and have a conversation. I'm so grateful I did.

Ben Raybin Review - Criminal Defense Law

Ben was an exceptional lawyer to work with. After consulting with multiple lawyers, it was clear to me that his attention to detail, calm personality, sympathy, attention to detail, and knowledge of law far exceeded those of his peers. His education is second to none and his ties to the community dat...e back to his upbringing. I would highly encourage anyone to work with him for criminal defense matters. Without going into specifics, he achieved the best possible result for my alleged DUI charge that was above and beyond what I even thought was the best possible outcome.

Best For DUIs in Nashville

I'm very happy that I hired Mr. Raybin to represent me for my DUI arrest. His explanations of all aspects of the legal proceedings and what to expect once a deal was reached were great. He was patient with all of my questions, was timely with his responses and represented me in the manner in which ...I wanted to be. I credit his relationships and history with the court as the 2 reasons that I had the best possible outcome. I would highly recommend hiring him.

Very impressed by Ben!

Ben represented my son in a DUI matter. The arrest was in late March and my son’s hearing was not until July. During that time, Ben was always very responsive with returning emails, calls, etc. He also did an excellent job in keeping both myself and my son informed about developments in the case. I c...ould not have been happier!

Hands down the BEST lawyer in Nashville!

Ben came highly recommended to me from multiple people after receiving a first time DUI this past April. He was able to meet with me quickly and thoroughly explained how everything would play out over the next few months and fully prepared me for worst and best case scenario, nothing was sugar coated..., and I greatly appreciated that. From the day I met with him/hired him, his communication was incredible. He answered all my questions in great detail (and i had a lot) within the same day. Ben gave me multiple suggestions of things to complete before court in order to help my case with direct links and numbers to contact. He was always very reassuring but also kept worst case scenario in mind. Ben knew that with my career and licensure, I really needed to get my charge reduced if at all possible. However, due to my BAC, my chances of a reduced charge weren’t all that great. I completed everything Ben suggested me to do before court. Once court rolled around, Ben was on top of everything. He met with me and the judge multiple times trying everything he could. Not only did he get my charge reduced to reckless endangerment, I didn’t have to serve the 48 hours, AND my probation period will be over before I renew my license for my job. This outcome was truly the best of the best and I was not at all expecting it. I know for a FACT that my outcome would not have been this good if I didn’t have Ben representing me/guiding me through this entire process. He is beyond knowledgeable, patient, and just all around so very good at his job. He took one of the most stressful times in my life and lifted that weight completely off my shoulders- I will forever sing his praises and highly recommend him to everyone from here on out. You are the truly the best of the best Ben, I will never be able to thank you enough.
