I'm one of the first women who was hired by any of the law firms in Nashville.  I slugged my way through the system as a single mom.  I've done all kinds of litigation and alternative dispute resolution.  Now I concentrate my practice on elder law issues, including life care planning and partners in planning services that include; estate planning, probate, Medicaid planning, VA planning and benefits, conservatorships, powers of attorney, and living wills.

At Elder Law of Nashville, we focus our practice on the legal needs of seniors and those in need of long-term care. Our lawyers and staff study your personal situations, legal and other, to help you get the quality care you deserve at the most affordable cost. Not all attorneys and law firms understand elder law issues. Our firm offers a unique advantage and we hope you will allow us to serve you.

Let us help with your legal needs!

Excellent legal services with great compassion and expertise
Elder Law of Nashville is a fabulous set of extensive services for all of us who are aging, for our parents, and for our loved ones. That means everyone! Whether wills are needed after children are born, or wills need to be probated after the death of family members, Elder Law is here to assist us with various and important legal needs. Like researching good schools for our children's education, or taking our cars to the best mechanics in town, we also need excellent legal services throughout our lives, as we prepare to live a long time. Elder Care services can also help our family members in case our deaths are sudden or unexpected so that they don't have to worry about difficult legal processes during such grievous times. Barbara Moss and her staff can assist us with everything we need to know, so we can make good decisions about our important choices, including how we manage our estates, financially and legally. Thank you to Elder Care, which has assisted me during my mother's aging and death, with such compassion, knowledge, and wisdom!

Gave my family much needed support and piece of mind!
I searched for at least a year until I found Barbara to help with support for my parents. Barbara and her team guided us through the process and pointed us to valuable resources we did not even know about. And they are still doing so! Janel and Chris are also wonderful, kind, and knowledgable. In short, my parents are now set up for the future with the support and piece of mind they (and I) needed. I cannot thank you enough! Reach out to Elder Law of Nashville to see how they can help you. Don't wait to get your family's future in order!

The Right Firm at a Critical Time
Elderlaw of Nashville was a Godsend at a critical time. When you lose an entire family within a three-year period, you need to have all legal and financial matters in good order. Barbara Moss and Shannon Lashlee stepped in to assist my aged aunt and uncle provide wills and a living trust when they had nothing. They facilitated their only daughter in both will and estate planning. As the executor of all three, Elderlaw provided invaluable assistance to me. Adam Berk was especially helpful to answer my questions and provide wise counsel through probate process. Elderlaw is experienced, knowledgeable, and caring. I can recommend they without reservation.

Elder law is 100% of their professional focus
I evaluated a number of law firms in Nashville that listed elder law as one of their professional areas .. "professional area" is not the same as the firm's focus. Elder Law of Nashville demonstrated in the handling of our family needs that this is not just an item on a website drop down menu. The firm is 100% focused in this specialty area and brought to our needs an exceptional depth and breath of professional knowledge, skill, resources, experience, creativity, and most importantly compassion for all members of the family involved in our case. Thank you Barbara and to your team.

Satisfied Client
We first found Elder Law during Covid protocols when my Grandmother was transferred to a facility out of our control. Elder Law helped us get her closer to home and eventually helped us get her home. They have been amazing to us and we continue to use them now for my Grandfather. Highly recommend.

Dedicated professional committed to helping the elderly
My 91 year old father went through an incredibly heartbreaking legal case when my stepmother needed residential care due to Alzheimer's. Elder Law of Nashville stepped up to help my dad and my stepmother, and worked to ensure my stepmother's rights as a person were not curtailed due to prejudice about age and disability. Barbara Moss went way above and beyond, supporting my father, putting together the best team and case to protect both my dad and stepmother, and ensuring my rights were also protected. Elder Law of Nashville isn't just about wills and trusts. If you or your loved one is facing discrimination due to disability or age, I can't recommend anyone more than Barbara Moss and Elder Law of Nashville. I give them five thousand stars.

Excellent Attorney for Estate Planning and Special Needs
After years of procrastination, I finally started the search to find a lawyer to prepare a will and a trust for an adult child with special needs. I literally fell into the lap of Atty. Barbara Moss of Elder Law of Nashville. I contacted a couple of law firms previously but for several reasons had no luck with them. I met with Atty. Moss and her team and they were very warm, attentive, informative and helpful during the consultation. Everyone seemed to know exactly what I needed. I hired Atty. Moss and her team for estate and special needs planning. They have exceeded my expectations and I look forward in continuing our relationship for years to come.

Ms. Moss and her Team are excellent. When my husband was hospitalized and needed long term care they went to work immediately to help me with his needs. Janel Heflin LCSW stayed in touch daily with me and the hospital staff to facilitate the transition to new residence. She is a calming presence and very professional. I would recommend Elder Law for families needing assistance with their loved ones long term care.

Choose Barbara and Her Team!
Barbara and her team assisted our family with Tenncare eligibility for long term care for our Mom. They also upgraded our Power of Attorney documents and were available to answer all of our questions. When we needed our Mom to sign documents, they brought them to the nursing home and accommodated our schedule needs. I, along with my family highly recommend Barbara Moss for all of your elder care needs.

Fantastic Lawyer!!
My brothers and I hired Barbara's firm to advise my parents and revise their outdated, out-of-state wills. We attended the free informational presentation, then Barbara and Bryson met with us at no charge to review the old wills and advise us on short and long-term planning. They presented the revisions prior to our second meeting for our review, then met us for the signing with no waiting or surprises. The part where we felt like Barbara earned her money was in dealing with our Dad, who was ornery and somewhat oppositional. She clearly explained each section of the new wills, why changes were made, and what each change would mean. She answered his questions respectfully and thoughtfully, to his apparent satisfaction. We were charged exactly what we expected to pay. (Full disclosure: I do IT work for Barbara as a contractor. I chose to work with her because I saw how well they treated clients who were sometimes there when I was working, and because of the competence and professionalism I witnessed from her staff)

Excellent Service
Barbara Moss was recommended by my lawyer to deal with legal needs I had relating to my mother and Tenncare during her last few months. Barbara and her staff were exceptional through the entire process. They helped with legal needs, court appearances and realtor issues. You could not go wrong using their firm. I have recommended them to fellow coworkers who are going through similar situations.

My farher's estate
I was very pleased with the work that Barbara Moss did in getting my father's estate through probate. Barbara and her paralegal were easy to communicate with and Barbara did an excellent job explaining the process to me at the outset. I live in Maryland and my parents had real estate in Tennessee and it was great to have a lawyer in Nashville who was efficient, effective and who kept me informed.

Hiring Elder Law of Nashville a smart decision
Hiring Elder Law of Nashville was one of the smartest decisions our family ever made. We came to Barbara Moss and her firm after an unsuccessful and nightmarish attempt to navigate the TennCare Medicaid system on our own. Our story is like that of many other families with elderly parents. My father suffers from Lewy Body Dementia and could no longer be cared for at home. My parents were struggling financially just to pay their bills and did not have the means to cover the cost of long term care. Yet my father was turned down for Medicaid on his initial application. We came to Barbara Moss desperate for legal advice and help. Barbara and her Public Benefits Specialist, Bryson Eubanks, seemed to feel our pain and frustration and went right to work for us. They reapplied with TennCare for Medicaid and filed an appeal to dispute the original denial. During this process, the Elder Law team was always there for us when we had questions or needed legal counsel. I mean ALWAYS because Bryson even returned one of my many phone calls from his vacation. Our family was thrilled when we got the news from our lawyers that our second Medicaid application had been approved. We felt the weight of the world lifted off our shoulders when we found out the appeal had been settled prior to the hearing date. Elder Law of Nashville got our family the help we so desperately needed to take care of our father. Their efforts on our behalf changed our lives. We encourage anyone in need of a legal champion to hire their services. Elder Law of Nashville will fight for you, and they will win for you!
