About John

Learn John’s areas of practice.

I had been a high school science teacher and an infantryman in the Army before I went to law school, so I know the value of a hard-earned dollar. I respect that my clients work hard for their money, so I don't waste it or their time. I place a priority on providing cost-effective legal and mediation services. Fighting for what's fair shouldn't be a luxury reserved for a select few or bankrupt someone.

I try to bring a creative perspective to legal problem-solving and dispute resolution, where "we've never done that before" is no excuse. My diverse experiences have broadened my perspective, both as an attorney and as a person, and continues to do so. Practicing law is part of my life, it's not the whole thing, and I think that makes me a better attorney and better able to understand and help my clients.

Only lawyer you will need
I went to John for a divorce from a referral. In the unfortunate experience as a divorce is, John made is very simple, worry free, and quick. I also can not get over how easily you can contact him via phone or email and get an immediate response. I won't consider using anyone else. He truly does have your back like an attorney should.

Professional AND Empathetic
John is a real 21st century lawyer - totally fluent in courtroom advocacy skills AND equipped with the listening and empathy skills of a mediator. This unique and important blend of approaches - combined with extensive multicultural experience and understanding - gives him AUTHENTICITY in ways that I have not seen before. John did a remarkable job with my divorce. He was patient, ethical and fair-minded. He did not over-charge me. I could not have been more pleased with John's performance. I recommend him to anyone who needs help getting through the hardest time of life.

Excellent help for my small business
I have been running a small business for a number of years with only marginal success. I became more serious about expanding my client base, extending the services offered and adding employees; John was an integral part of that growth. With his direction and knowledge of contracts, risk, and employees I was able to successfully grow my business.

Went the extra mile.
I had a co worker who needed a divorce and to get custody of his son from an abusive mother who lived out of state. No other lawyer wanted to take his case. John overcame many hurdles and reunited the son with his father.

Great lawyer. Perfect combination of intelligence and aggressiveness
We used john to assist us in a partnership deal that became messy. He did a wonderful job in thinking "out of the box" and representing our case! Many thanks to john

Best attorney I've ever known - can't recommend him highly enough!
I have worked with a number of lawyers over the years, but none so smart (he's even been on Jeopardy!), reasoned, detail-oriented, and committed to his clients. His legal briefs are compelling, and he's great at thinking quickly on his feet. Furthermore, he is always easy to reach when you need him, a trait that is rare among divorce attorneys. I can't recommend John Heacock's law office highly enough!

Consummate Professional
I had nothing but a great experience working with John. He was very good about communicating with me, he kept me in contact with anyone I needed to speak with, and he is a very intelligent and open person. I trusted him with my fate, and he did right by me and my family. Excellent person, and an excellent Lawyer.
