Nice guy but have a beer with him and reconsider hiring him. Not really a fighter/advocate. I had serious issues w a former employer and hoped Mr. Kelly would help. If he hit any kind of wall, he would say things like 'Well, they aren't going to admit anything.' Gave up really easy and never really ...pushed back on the employer. It was a larger music biz company, and he seemed to take more pleasure in working with their attorney than working with his client. I believe solidifying that working relationship took precedence. I had harder evidence underlining my issue that he would not use. Also, sent communication to the employer without consulting or getting approval from me. There was an entire issue with my complaint that he never even brought up with the employer. It took so long to resolve, and I get that the other side had an impact on the delay, but just not a good experience overall. A couple of years after my experience w the company, others went thru something similar. At least two were able to negotiate a much larger settlement than I received.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
