Hired Melinda Brown to oversee our case disputing a conservative ship over my handicapped daughter that was kidnapped and abducted by my oldest Estranged daughter. I live out of state so not too familiar with the insane laws of Tennessee even allowing such. After consulting with her, she immediat...ely took my case and my substantial down payment that I had to go through such great lengths to come up with. Knowing the craziness that the opposing attorney and opposing petitioner were capable of with all their slander and lies, everything we begged for to help our defense fell on deaf ears….. 12 hours before the emergency conservative-ship hearing was to expire to go into a permanent status, Melinda Brown withdrew from our case leaving us without council. When I expressed our disappointment and lack of fair representation and informed her that we would be complaining to the Department of Professional Responsibility as well as the Bar Association she immediately locked us out of our portal not allowing any access to our records regarding the case. She continues to send us invoices that cannot be paid through the portal since we are forbidden all access and should not even be billing us to begin with for services that were not even performed . We are currently facing a horrific situation as we hear from numerous other councils in that area that this is very common in that state to see conservative-ships take place under that jurisdiction that continually take place and rips families of their dear ones for all the wrong reasons NOT for the best interest of the person at stake. If Melinda Brown was willing to take my case from the very beginning without any hesitation then to quickly unexpectedly withdraw at the most crucial point does not sit well with any of us. I highly caution you all when seeking council as to please do your research and get someone that is knowledgeable with your specific situation as no case is ever a guarantee however, to know you chosen an Attorney that will at least fight for you should be your goal. Melinda Brown basically handed my handicapped daughter on a silver platter to the system and I’ll never have a chance to see my daughter or hear her voice again thanks to the corrupt system . Melinda Brown, I can’t understand or want to understand how you could allow this! To say I’m Disappointed is an understatement!

I hired Ms. Brown, and she took charge, told me what she needed, kept me up to date, and answered all my questions. She never seemed bothered when I kept coming up with more questions. She was patient, easy to talk to, and really cared. She did an awesome job of explaining what I should expect during... my hearing. And we won my case! I would definitely recommend her services!
