Called the office, no answer. Checked the website - so I send description of my case. Get email back saying that all cases are different and I need to make an appointment to talk to lawyer. The appointment is not confirmed until I pay $103.65 Paid the fee and waited for a call on the day of my ...appointment. Day of appointment: No call, I had to call them to ask if anyone was going to call me. After being asked for my name, SSN ( which I never gave ) and date of birth. I was informed that lawyer doesn't handle cases like mine. If I want the $103.65 back, I have to go their office in Dickson to pickup my money or get the money by check/mail. But if I have no physical address she will not send the money back. ( I have a PO Box instead in California, but that is not good enough) Apparently I need to get a physical address so I can get my money back by mail. But there was no problem charging my credit card without physical address. Problem with this lawyer: 1. Won't refund your money unless I get a physical address. 2. Should have told me that she doesn't handle cases like mine before I paid the $103.65 (I was sent an invoice) 3. Office receptionist hangs up on you, because I don't have a physical address ( except PO box ), so they won't send my money back until I get a physical address. There are no stars I can give. All of this for nothing. Total waste of time and now I have to wait to get my money back.

I had a wonderful experience with this law firm. Professional, attentive and kind. I think these other reviewers must have been having a really bad day, or are talking about another office, because my experience was seamless and good all around. Would definitely recommend Kelly Jackson Smith to fiend...s and family.

We hired Mrs. Smith after my son was charged with vandalism. At the time he was a seven-year-old autistic boy who drew on his desk. She talked a big game in the beginning and had us feeling very comfortable. We even disregarded all the bad reviews that was our first mistake. After paying her initial... retainer we quickly realized that those reviews was how she practiced in her firm. She dragged the case on and on continuance after continuance. We decided to be proactive and potentially go to court without her because we were over it at this point. When she received word of this, she called me and spoke to me very unprofessional and told me I would be fired so at that point, we decided to start looking for another attorney because we were in the process of moving to another state and we didn’t have time to keep playing her games. Finally, another attorney my family knows was recommended out of Nashville,. He was able to get the case dismissed a week after I had hired him without even having to go to court. I would advise people to read their negative reviews take them into consideration because we found most of them to be true. Then, after all that her assistant notifies me that she is going to return some of my money so we had hopes that maybe she was just to busy. She had the nerve to give me back I believe around 300 dollars after I had giving her 2k. Mind you, she never went to court never really put any time in the case besides a few emails with me and a couple phone calls. Wow 5 ten minutes phone calls cost 1,700 dollars?! I definitely do not recommend. I know she will have some kind of response I’m sure defending her self. She’s a lawyer so she is a good talker. I just wanted to make the public aware to strongly consider her reviews when hiring her.

Will nickel and dime the piss out of you. Had a friend use her. Simple questions. If she or had her paralegal actually stayed in communication occasionally none of the questions would have even had to have been asked. Charges 200 per hour to respond back to emails that take less than a minute to ...respond.
