Not worth her fee

I hired Carrie to handle a personal matter. After laying down a hefty retainer she came back and asked for more money. After another visit with her I found out she did very little to satisfy the retainer I paid.. I hired another attorney and settled the matter in a period less than 2 weeks. Needless... to say I am very disappointed in Carrie.

Disappointed with Carrie Gasaway's legal services

I paid to consult with ms. Gasaway for legal representation for a contested divorce. For a fee of $6000.00 plus an additional $1000.00 for paperwork and court costs she promised me swift results. After that initial meeting I could only meet with her paralegals. I was told that a court date would be s...et soon for child custody hearings. After a couple months I contacted her office for answers because nothing was happening only to speak to her paralegal and be informed that ms Gasaway has been busy with a big case in another town. By this time my wife and I decided to drop our divorce and mend our marriage. Her lack of interest in my best interests gave me a lack of confidence in getting what I was promised. I asked for any refund to the reply of a check for less than a couple hundred dollars. I feel like once she was paid upfront like she asked attitude changed. Because of my lack of confidence by her actions I reconciled only to go through divorce a year later.

Quality of Service Not Worth A Dime

I was really disappointed with the quality of service provided by Carrie Gassaway. I entrusted her with my divorce case with the hopes of her representing me to the best of her ability. One year after I retained her I was still in court trying to finalize my divorce. There was a serious lack of co...mmunication on her part. I was disappointed with the fact that she never informed me on what was going on with my case. I never had any open communication lines with her. I was being charged for phone calls and emails with her paralegal even though she could never provide me any information. I was always told someone would get back with me but no one ever would. I would get notification emails to let me know the dates of court without any other preparation. I had to attend a mandated mediation session without her and was told by her paralegal assistant that "she never attends mediations". After a few more months of thinking "no news is good news" I started asking more questions. I think she took that as a personal threat and within days she put a motion in to withdraw from my case. After the judge granted the motion she told me she didn't want to leave me and continued on with the case. Three weeks before my final court date she quit for a second time. Her reason for quiting the second time was that she sent a bill to my post office box that I was unable to check on a regular basis. I set up the box just to receive important legal documents. I also stated to please let me know when documents were being sent to that mailing address so I could make arrangements to go pick it up. This particular post office does not have 24 hour access to boxes. So, on a Friday, the day the bill was due I was given less than one hour notice to pay or else. What was suprising to me was that on this same day after a year of representation I received my first email from this attorney. Lack of money was defiantely not the issue here because the next work day I had a second attorney retained and ready to represent me at the final trial date.

Thank you, Mrs. Gasaway!

As a father of a 3-year-old daughter with special needs, divorce was the furthest things from my mind, until the day I was served those papers. I did not know what to do, and nearly did nothing because I did not want a divorce. Eventually I came to the realization that the divorce was inevitable an...d made an appointment with Carrie Gasaway. Ms. Gasaway and her amazing staff were kind, respectful, sympathetic, and well versed in the law. I began to feel better immediately. Ms. Gasaway listened patiently to a very long story, and assured me she could help. From that first meeting, I felt confident in her ability to take care of my case, protect my rights as a father, and aggressively fight for the best interests of my child. Her advice and support have been invaluable. She is a no-nonsense, highly intelligent community leader, and a woman of her word. I am very thankful she accepted my case and worked quickly to resolve the divorce and custody issues. She and her staff are equipped to handle any situation with comfort and understanding. If you need an attorney who cares about you and your personal situation, Gasaway, Farmer, & Associates is the place to go!
