Catherine is a strong attorney who helped me navigate a divorce agreement that was fair. She will give you honest, real advice and not just what you want to hear. I also appreciated the fact that she helped me see the reality of things dragging out in the court system that would escalate cost drama...tically. She truly cares about her clients, and is not there to run up your bill. I have had to consult her quite a few times after the divorce settlement as my ex has continually caused issues for me. She has consistently been there via email, phone calls, and meetings to offer me advice and guidance, often at no or minimal cost . In the Summer of 2017, my wife told me she wanted a divorce--rocked my world, caught me off guard, I thought things were good, etc. When it became apparent that none of my efforts to reconcile were going to work, I knew I needed a lawyer. After meeting with her, I knew she was the lawyer I needed. Catherine and her office were remarkably responsive; I joked with a colleague I felt like I had 24/7 and online support. She was not only knowledgeable, but has a wisdom and confidence that is apparent. And she is brutally honest--I didn't get everything I wanted, necessarily, but I got a really good agreement put in place where I keep the house and get joint custody of my children. At one point, the ex-wife threatened to tell her lawyer to file for divorce and take our differences to court. Catherine reached out to the other lawyer, talked everyone off the ledge and within a week we had an agreement I was willing to sign. I have never heard of a lawyer doing such a thing before. Catherine's office was awesome, too; everyone was 100% professional and responsive. I would HIGHLY recommend Catherine Garland to anyone needing a divorce lawyer. This was the worst thing I have ever been through, but Catherine was able to calm the waters and kept me sane during the final steps.
