Officer, upon approaching vehicle, noted an odor of alcohol, slurred speech, disorientation ... and bloodshot eyes exhibited by client. Officer requested client exit vehicle and perform SFST. Officer concluded client failed the administered SFST and arrested client for DUI. Client registered a .15g/210L on breath test.

Officer asked client to say the alphabet from D-L and then had her exit the vehicle. Officer had client perform the One-Leg Stand test and Walk & Turn test. Officer concluded that client unsatisfactorily performed these tests and arrested her for DUI. Client registered a .09 g/210L on the breath test.

Client was then asked to participate in the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test and Walk & Turn. Client refused to participate in field sobriety testing. Client was arrested for DUI. A search of client's vehicle yielded a small amount of marijuana for personal use. Client was subsequently charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Client was traveling from out of state through Alabama and was stopped by an Alabama State Trooper of speeding 82/70 mph zone. Upon approaching vehicle and conversing with client, Trooper said he coul ... d smell burnt marijuana. Trooper searched the vehicle and found an amount of marijuana for personal use and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. Client was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding. Upon pre-trial negotiations with the Assistant District Attorney, the State agreed to dismiss both the speeding and possession of marijuana charges. The possession of drug paraphernalia charge was non-adjudicated rather the client entered a Youthful Offender agreement with no probation or sentence.

Client met colleagues at a local bar after ending work. Client consumed several drinks before heading home. On the way home, client side-swiped a vehicle on the interstate and fled. Client was stopp ... ed some miles away when a local police officer saw her vehicle matching the description of a recent BOLO. Officer noted client was extremely disoriented and had a glazed look. The vehicle client hit was rendered inoperable and 3 of the 4 occupants were taken to the hospital, 2 of which had significant injury. Client was arrested for suspicion of DUI and leaving the scene of an accident. with a felony investigation pending. Client registered a .15g/210L on the breath test. Client was ultimately charged with 2 felony counts of Assault and 1 felony count of Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Injury. Client maintained a professional license and risked losing this license and her career, not to mention potential for prison time, if convicted of the felony charges.
